"It will give us, for a course of years, good government and then only end, due to the corruption of the people, in despotism, which will be the only form of government suitable for them." -- Benjamin Franklin on the Constitution Philadelphia, 1789.

Former President Donald Trump’s hush money criminal trial took an interesting turn after a witness turned the case in favor of the former president.

Manhattan District Attorney indicted Trump for allegedly paying adult movie star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep an alleged affair secret. According to PJ Media, Daniels’ lawyer, Keith Davidson, testified in court on Thursday and completely undermined Bragg’s charges against the former president.

During his testimony, Davidson argued that the $130,000 payment to his client should not be seen as “hush money.” The witness maintained that the payment was a legitimate “consideration” payment.

Fed Chair Powell yesterday said he doesn’t see the “stag” in stagflation. Really?

Well, in Q1 in the US… it failed to show up as non-farm productivity – or nonfarm employee output per hour – rose at a measly 0.3% annualized rate after an upwardly revised 3.5% gain in the prior period (well below expectations)…

Since the repeal of net neutrality under Trump, internet service providers haven’t throttled speeds or levied charges for every tweet. Instead, internet speeds have soared, alongside increased investment in broadband access. Yet, despite this, the Biden administration sees fit to resurrect these regulations.

Government and healthcare sectors drive job growth, with 61% of net payrolls added in the last year. Despite a recent increase in full-time work, the economy has lost full-time jobs over the past 12 months, with all net gains in part-time employment. Employment of foreign-born workers has surpassed pre-pandemic levels, while native-born Americans lag behind. Total unemployed Americans hit a new high. Rising unemployment signals potential recession, prompting caution in financial markets.

The FBI is being pressed by members of Congress to investigate the student protests, both for possible foreign financing and for students chanting "Death to America" — a phrase Fox News says is becoming a "key slogan" of the protests.

There's just one problem: students never said it.

I’ve searched, scoured photographs, and waded through social media. There’s no evidence that any of the student demonstrators taking to dozens of college campuses in recent weeks to protest Israel’s war in Gaza said “Death to America.”

Last year, Paans was playing on the women’s team when they beat University of California Santa Barbara 8-6 in the championship game.

He scored several goals in the two games leading up to the championship game. Both games were blowout wins for Michigan.

British actor and comedian John Cleese said in a recent interview that people should not be afraid to publicly state that some cultures are superior to others.

Cleese, who made the remarks during an interview with a local magazine, said, “Race doesn’t matter, but culture does.”

“I think that some cultures are superior to others, and we should not be frightened to say so,” he said. “A society that goes in for female genital mutilation is abhorrent, and I happen to think that if people come to live in Britain, they should accept and adhere to our values.”

“I understand that some 20 percent of Muslims in the U.K. would like to see Sharia law, and I believe that’s wrong,” he added.

Nearly 200 programs to raise baby salmon in a controlled environment dot the rivers in Oregon, holding them before releasing them into the wild to live out their life cycle. Last week, a man broke into the Winchester Bay Salmon Trout Enhancement Program (Step) and poured bleach into a Chinook salmon tank, killing about 18,000 fish.

Authorities arrested 20-year-old Joshua Alexander Heckathorn, a resident of Gardiner, Oregon, on 23 April, a day after the chemicals were dumped into one of the hatchery rearing ponds. He told law enforcement officials he had visited a storage area the day before and picked up a bottle of bleach, according to a Facebook post by the Douglas county sheriff’s office. Heckathorn was arrested and booked into the Douglas county jail on Tuesday for second-degree burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

A new report is citing a Canadian government database showing an explosion of reproductive ailments as evidence of problems with side effects from the mRNA treatments mandated by governments and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It is past time for the Canadian medical and government establishment, along with mainstream medical professionals and legacy media, to stop gaslighting suffering patients. It is time for them to explore the dramatic evidence of the relationship between COVID vaccination rollout and the reproductive damage that tens of if not thousands of patients suffered," explained a substack report at BehindTheFDACurtain.

The report documented that according to the database, "the average number of patients assigned the following reproduction-related diagnostic codes increased, on average, in every category for 2021 to 2022 over 2015 to 2019.

"This means that Canadian medical professionals found more Ontarians suffering from the following conditions after over eighty-five percent of the population had taken COVID vaccines."

The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed the Countering Antisemitism Act, which purports to crack down on anti-Semitism on college campuses as protests continue to rage nationwide. The bill would require the Department of Education to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism when enforcing the 1964 Civil Rights Act on college campuses.

What exactly is the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism? The organization defines it as:

A certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.

Last month, multiple news outlets reported on the record-smashing year the wind industry had in 2023. The Global Wind Energy Council released its latest report showing the world installed 117 gigawatts of capacity. The Associated Press called 2023 a “record year for wind installations,” and Reuters noted that the U.S. was among the top five markets for wind installations.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration released a report this week showing that installing more wind farms doesn’t necessarily mean generating more electricity. The U.S. tripled its wind energy capacity, according to the report, from 47 gigawatts in 2010 to 147.5 gigawatts at the end of 2023. While that may sound impressive, generation from all those wind farms dropped 2.1% over 2022.

Much of that drop was during the first six months of 2023, when wind generation fell by 14% compared to the same period in 2022.
