i AM GOING INTO THE HOSPITAL TOMORROW (TUESDAY) FOR MY FIRST CATARACT SURGERY AND WILL NOT BE WORKING TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. IF ALL GOES WELL I…
Thought for the day
"We're so self-important. So arrogant. Everybody's going to save something now. Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save the snails. And the supreme arrogance? Save the planet! Are these people kidding? Save the planet? We don't even know how to take care of ourselves; we haven't learned how to care for one another. We're gonna save the fuckin' planet? . . . And, by the way, there's nothing wrong with the planet in the first place. The planet is fine. The people are fucked! Compared with the people, the planet is doin' great. It's been here over four billion years . . . The planet isn't goin' anywhere, folks. We are! We're goin' away. Pack your shit, we're goin' away. And we won't leave much of a trace. Thank God for that. Nothing left. Maybe a little Styrofoam. The planet will be here, and we'll be gone. Another failed mutation; another closed-end biological mistake." -- George Carlin

As sham investigations against conservatives in the MAGA movement begin to ramp up before the 2022 mid-term election, the Democrat machine suffered a huge loss today: prosecutors will not seek charges against Trump-endorsed Matt Gaetz for sex-trafficking. The bogus allegation arose in 2020.
The attacks on free and open discussion are becoming more and more widespread. Now, as Toby Young explains in an article this morning, the payment service PayPal has closed the accounts of the Daily Sceptic, which often publishes criticism of the government policy in various matters.
PayPal has also closed the account of the Free Speech Union, which provides support to people whose freedom of opinion is under attack, for example those fired from their jobs because of their opinions. PayPal has even gone as far as to close the rarely used personal account of Toby Young, who is in charge of both the Daily Sceptic and the Free Speech Union, and is also associate editor of The Spectator, one of the world’s most respected newspapers.
As Toby reports in his article, the company has offered no explanation for this move.
When payment services or banks begin to act in this way, it should dawn upon us what a serious threat to free and open exchange of opinions we are facing. Not only can you be fired from your job, your very possibility to make a living will be taken away also.
Now, there is little doubt that many people think that as long as their own opinions are allowed, everything is fine, even if other opinions are forbidden. But that position, apart from being morally wrong, is based on an utter lack of understanding of the threat we face; the question is not if, but when it will be your own opinions that are censored, your own livelihood taken away.
“Okay to ban right-wing bullshit” a thoughtless leftist might think. “Okay to ban communist propaganda” the thoughtless right-winger might think. But as Toby points out in his article, it is in fact also left-wing media outlets that PayPal is now attacking, not just right-leaning ones like the Daily Sceptic.
Webmaster addition: The US has become possessed by the ghost of the USSR!
In the name of promoting “diversity,” ruling Greens in the German the city of Hanover plan to ban a third of native citizens from applying for government jobs so they can be given to migrants.
“A green mayor makes the difference!” wrote Turkish-born Filiz Polat, managing director of the Greens parliamentary group.
Polat was referring to Hanover Mayor Belit Onay, who came to power in November 2019, and is also of Turkish heritage.
“By the end of 2026, a third of all newly advertised positions in the city should be filled by applicants with a migration background,” wrote Polat.
In an effort to vastly increase the number of foreign-origin migrants in positions of local authority, a draft resolution brought by the city’s integration committee will ensure that the “target figure for all new hires is 30 percent.”
On September 23, a referendum began in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, in territories that are under Russian control.
In the DPR and LPR, whose independence Russia recognized in February, the people vote for or against the Republics to join the Russian Federation. In the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the people answer the question of the regions’ secession from Ukraine, the creation of independent states within their administrative borders, that is, including territories controlled by Ukrainian forces, and their subsequent entry into Russia.
The voting will take five days. In order to ensure the safety of citizens, the first four days they would vote at home. On the last day, residents could vote at the polling stations. Citizens who have left the regions can vote at special polling stations created outside the regions.
In turn, Kiev’s position and military tasks did not change. Ukrainian forces will continue to try to recapture the lost territories. At the same time, following the best ‘democratic traditions’ the Ukrainian authorities threaten the citizens in the lost territories for the expression of their free will. Participation in a referendum may be punishable by imprisonment and confiscation of property.
Kiev attempts to disrupt these referenda not only by political means. In recent days, strikes on residential areas of the cities of the DPR and LPR have been particularly brutal.
The US must change its attitude towards China so the two powers can get along on the world stage, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with his US counterpart, Antony Blinken, in New York on Friday.
“China-US relations are at a critical juncture, and it is urgent for both sides to establish a correct way for the two major countries to get along with each other in a responsible attitude towards the world,” Wang told Blinken, according to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Wang added that by pledging to defend Taiwan, Washington is undermining China’s sovereignty and “sending a very wrong and dangerous signal.”
China considers the self-governing island its territory and opposes any form of foreign diplomatic and military aid to Taipei. “The issue of Taiwan is China’s internal affair, and the US has no right to interfere,” Wang said.
We hope that the US will correct its perception of China … and stop trying to deal with the Chinese from a position of strength.
According to US State Department spokesman Ned Price, Blinken spoke about the need to maintain open lines of communication with Beijing and stressed that Washington is “committed to maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, consistent with our longstanding ‘one-China’ policy.”

Hillary Clinton: I remember as a young student trying to figure out how did people get basically drawn in by Hitler? How did that happen? And I’d watch news reels and I’d see this guy standing up there and ranting and raving, people shouting and raising their arms. What’s happened to these people? Why do they believe that? You saw the rally in Ohio the other night. Trump is there ranting and raving for more than an hour and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised. And I thought, what is going on?”

An Alabama man convicted of killing three people in a 1999 workplace shooting was spared the death penalty at the 11th hour Thursday because his executioner couldn’t find a vein for the lethal injection.
Alan Miller’s execution was called off about 11:30 p.m. when prison officials decided the vein issue would keep them from meeting the midnight deadline, Alabama Corrections Commissioner John Hamm said.
Miller’s execution was cleared to move forward by a last-minute decision from the US Supreme Court.

On September 1st, in front of Independence Hall, where brave, brilliant men signed the Declaration of Independence, standing up to the bully King George III and denouncing England’s oppressive government rule over the colonies, The Great Dictator, Joe Biden, spoke to his comrades. For the other 75 million Americans, we were unmistakably told that we are a threat to democracy, “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”
Trying to get in front of their numerous, devastating losses and failures, the regime chose to employ the tactics of socialist darling, Saul Alinsky, by projecting everything they are doing onto their political enemies, the MAGA Republicans. The President of the United States, flanked by two uniformed Marines, bathing in blood red light, referred to these Americans as “MAGA extremists” and conveyed persistently that they are a threat to democracy. By “democracy” Biden of course means their oppressive, unforgiving control over the republic; their “oligarchy.”
The Great Dictator seems to approve of unthreatening, establishment Republicans, which comes as no surprise but has declared war on the nearly 75 million Americans who voted for the bad, mean tweeting orange man who stands between us and them. Boy did Trump trip a nerve with these folks. Ever wonder what that’s really about?
The democrats are showing their cards. They are so desperate to hold on to power that they are willing to throw away law and order, public safety, the economy, the constitution, election integrity, free speech, your way of life, and grossly abuse political power against political enemies, all to stop Trump. It is time to ask yourself why they are so frantic and so willing to destroy the greatest constitutional federal republic on earth. To what end and why?
The EU has “tools” to respond if the political situation in Italy goes in a “difficult direction,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday. She hinted that the country could face punishments such as those recently leveled against Hungary and Poland if the upcoming election results in the predicted right-wing sweep.
“My approach is that whatever democratic government is willing to work with us, we’re working together,” she said in response to a question over whether she had “concerns” about Sunday’s Italian parliamentary vote, in which the conservative Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) are projected to take first place.
“If things go in a difficult direction, I’ve spoken about Hungary and Poland, we have tools,” von der Leyen explained.

The U.S Postal Service spied on ‘MAGA’ protesters, gun rights activists and other right-wing groups between late 2020 and early 2021, according to records obtained by The Washington Times. ‘MAGA’ is former President Donald Trump’s slogan meaning “Make America Great Again.”
Patrick Eddington, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, obtained heavily redacted files detailing the USPS’ surveillance activities from September 2020 to April 2021, which included a secret effort to surveil social media known as the Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP).
The USPS monitored the activities of gun rights activists, protesters planning to demonstrate against police in Louisville, Kentucky after the shooting of Breonna Taylor, and right-wing groups traveling to Washington, D.C. after the 2020 election.
Eddington said the documents demonstrate the USPS’ surveillance capabilities.
Hurricane Fiona continues to pummel Bermuda with 125 mph winds and 30-foot tidal swells as the Category 3 storm capsizes yachts along the island's harbors and leaves 70 percent of the island without power.
The tidal swells have caused chaos in Hamilton Harbor, where ABC News' Rob Marciano reports that boats are either being tossed onto land or sinking.
'A number of these boats are not just coming onboard, they're actually sinking,' Marciano said. 'It is just crazy here.'
