Russia may potentially launch a strike from Syria targeting a British military base in Cyprus. This assertion was made by Andrey Klintsevich in an interview with “Tsargrad,” as reported by the Russian outlet Gazeta.ru. Klintsevich, who heads the Center for the Study of Military-Political Conflicts, shared his insights on the matter.

According to Klintsevich, the British air base in Cyprus is approximately 200 km from Syrian territory. He hypothesized, “If a group were to accidentally strike that base and destroy several planes, there would be a significant outcry. However, the West primarily responds to force, which has been evident in recent events.”

Klintsevich further suggested that Russia might soon begin to mirror the actions of Western countries. He pointed out that Russia could potentially start supplying advanced weaponry to adversaries of the United States and Great Britain as a form of reciprocal action.

A senior executive from the security and aerospace behemoth Northrop Grumman on Monday said his firm plans to fabricate ammunition in Ukraine, in the first open-source announcement by a major American arms producer of intent to manufacture munitions in the country.

Dave Bartell, Director of International Business at Northrop Grumman Defense System (NG) made the comment at the Eurostatory arms show in Paris, and said Ukrainian defense funds would pay to set up the assembly line, which would produce “medium caliber” ammunition.

Webmaster addition: Seems risky to me to put such a tempting target within reach of Russia's weapons!

Ukraine has been authorized to use US-supplied weapons to strike the Russian mainland wherever Moscow’s troops are advancing from across the border, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told PBS on Tuesday. The Pentagon also reiterated the escalatory change in policy on Thursday. Ukraine has suffered hundreds of thousands of casualties and continues losing territory in its war with Russia, in which Kiev serves as a NATO proxy.

The White House green-lit Ukrainian strikes with American arms on Russia’s side of the border last month. At the time, the policy was supposed to only extend near the eastern Kharkiv region, where Moscow’s forces had been advancing. However, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who led the push within the administration to allow Ukraine to strike Russia, suggested even that restriction could be loosened by saying the US would “adapt and adjust” to suit Kiev’s needs based on changing battlefield conditions.

Now Ukraine can fire American weapons “anywhere that Russian forces are coming across the border from the Russian side to the Ukrainian side to try to take additional Ukrainian territory,” Sullivan said. Moscow has indicated it plans to attack the northeastern city of Sumy, located near the shared border, and Sullivan added that Ukraine could also strike Russian forces over the border there as an example.

Donald Trump is a master showman and marketer. He demonstrated those skills once again with his proposal to kill the tax on tips. It’s more than shrewd. It’s brilliant.

After the hoorays from waiters and other service workers died down, political analysts weighed in. Their conclusion: This is a very smart way to gain an edge in Nevada, where the presidential race is close. That’s certainly true. But Trump’s proposal is much smarter and will have a bigger impact, not because of its impact on tips, as such, but because of the larger signal it sends. That signal says to lower-income workers across the country, “I understand your struggles, and I’m with you.”

The Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has issued another report identifying ongoing problems with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) processes.

A regional CBP and ICE detention and removal processes were ineffective at one major international airport, the OIG audit found. The report redacts the name and location of the airport and CBP and ICE regional offices.

Between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, the report found CBP agents at this airport released at least 383 inadmissible travelers from custody into the U.S. who, under the law, are prohibited from entering the country. Instead of detaining and processing them for removal, they were released and ordered to return to be removed on their own recognizance; 168 (44%) of them didn't return for their removal flights.

A Utah man who allegedly murdered both of his parents in cold blood earlier this week not only reportedly confessed to the crime, he also allegedly insisted he would "do it again" if he could.

Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, a 28-year-old man whose given name was Collin Troy Bailey but who legally changed his gender to female and his name to Mia Bailey last year allegedly marched into his parents' home near St. George, Utah, with the intent to kill his family.

'We want to make sure that she knows that we’re going to treat her in the correct way and in a fair way.'

According to reports, his parents — 70-year-old Joseph Bailey and 69-year-old Gail Bailey — may have taken issue with his gender confusion. Neighbor Richard Zyszkiewicz told reporters that the family's relationship was volatile and that he got "bad vibes" from them.

If you remember, Pfizer didn’t publish the results of their mRNA trial until after the election because they didn’t want to help Donald Trump win the 2020 election.

As we now know, mRNA wasn’t as advertised. However, it influenced the election even though Donald Trump was the one who pushed for the success of this experimental drug during a pandemic we now know was probably caused by the gain of function experiments in Wuhan that we paid for.

So, Fauci writes in his new book, On Call:

“On November 7, after the absentee ballots were counted, Joe Biden was declared the winner of the presidential election. It was the very next night that Albert Bourla, Pfizer’s CEO, called me away from my neighbors’ fire pit to inform me about the game-changing results from the Pfizer mRNA vaccine trial. I finally thought we had truly turned a corner in defeating this terrible disease.”

Attorneys for former President Donald Trump filed a motion on Thursday for New York Judge Arthur Engoron, who oversaw Trump's civil fraud trial, to recuse himself after a lawyer allegedly offered the judge unsolicited advice on the Trump trial.

Engoron ruled against Trump in his civil fraud trial in February, and ordered the former president to pay $355 million in penalties, plus interest, as part of New York Attorney General Letitia James's civil fraud case against him.

Trump attorneys Alina Habba and Clifford Robert called for his recusal in a 24-page motion, after lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey told NBC-4 that he spoke with Engoron about the case. But Bailey never mentioned Trump by name, according to The Hill.

The true architects of societal wisdom—the elders who historically guided younger generations through life’s complexities—have been marginalized. In their place, ideologues wield influence, lacking the sagacity essential for balanced governance and cultural cohesion. This shift represents a broader loss of wisdom in American culture, supplanted by biases and prejudice.

Throughout history, the longevity of elders was synonymous with wisdom.

These venerable figures served as pillars of knowledge, shaping the moral and intellectual fabric of communities.

Education was a collective endeavor, deeply rooted in family, tribe, and community. Today, however, a significant portion of society, particularly the younger generations, has severed ties with this historical legacy. The socio-psychological implications of this shift are alarming. Driven by primal instincts and disconnected from those embodying true wisdom, the youth now navigate life with lowered standards of knowledge, evident in the degraded state of our esteemed educational and social institutions.

The erosion of America’s social foundation and cultural fabric, driven by divisive policies and tribal polarization has not occurred in isolation.

Throughout history, many great minds have emphasized the importance of wisdom—both civic and spiritual—and critical thinking for a productive and sustainable society. At the same time they have warned against the dangers posed by conceited bureaucrats and administrators who promote rigid lawful dogmas over genuine knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, today more than ever before, there is an urgent demand to restore the wisdom of our elders as central figures to critique the self-destructive trajectory that has been underway for over four decades and to propose a path forward.

Throughout history, philosophers and deep thinkers have recognized the pivotal cultural role of elders by emphasizing their unique capacity to embody wisdom and guide younger generations towards a healthy and cohesive societal structure. Aristotle notably emphasized the importance of elders in the context of governance and education. He viewed elders as repositories of phronesis or “practical wisdom”, gained through a lifetime of experiences and moral deliberation.

Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., chairman of Children’s Health Defense, this week filed a wrongful death suit against Merck alleging the drug maker’s Gardasil HPV vaccine caused the death of 13-year-old Noah Tate Foley.

The civil action, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina on behalf of Noah’s parents, Clifton and Kelli Foley, alleges Noah died Oct. 8, 2020, of encephalitis caused by an autoimmune/autoinflammatory dysregulation process directly related to the Gardasil injection he received in 2018.

The lawsuit also alleges the vaccine caused autonomic, neurological, heterogeneous autoimmune disease and a constellation of adverse symptoms, complications, injuries and other adverse events, which led to Noah’s wrongful death.

It raises the stakes in the US’ dangerous game of nuclear chicken with Russia in Ukraine, accelerates the US’ “Pivot (back) to Asia”, and could thus trap China and the US in an escalation spiral that moves the New Cold War out of Europe.

Russia and North Korea just clinched a mutual defense pact during President Putin’s trip to Pyongyang, which followed his counterpart Kim Jong Un’s visit to Vladivostok last September that was analyzed here. This agreement is a geopolitical game-changer for three fundamental reasons:

–it raises the stakes in the US’ dangerous game of nuclear chicken with Russia in Ukraine;

–accelerates the US’ “Pivot (back) to Asia”;

–and could thus trap China and the US in an escalation spiral that moves the New Cold War out of Europe.

To explain, the first outcome can be interpreted as one of Russia’s promised asymmetrical responses to the West arming Ukraine.

False Reports About Russia’s Military Aid Request to China

If Russia achieves a military breakthrough across the front lines that’s exploited by some NATO members as the pretext for commencing a conventional intervention which provokes a Cuban-like brinkmanship crisis in Europe, then North Korea might provoke its own such crisis in Asia in order to remind the US about the principle of “Mutually Assured Destruction” (MAD).

Valdai Club expert Dmitry Suslov, who’s also a member of the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy and Deputy Director of World Economy and International Politics at Moscow’s Higher School of Economics, published a piece at RT where he observed that the US “lost its fear of the mushroom cloud”. He therefore suggested a “demonstrative” nuclear test in order to scare some sense back into Western warmongers, but Russia’s new mutual defense pact with North Korea could serve the same purpose.

In the Western mindset, North Korea is synonymous with nuclear scares and World War III, so knowing that it could symmetrically escalate in Asia out of solidarity with Russia in response to the US escalating in Europe might make American policymakers think twice about crossing Russia’s red lines there. After all, it would already be difficult enough managing the escalation ladder in one Cuban-like brinksmanship crisis, let alone two at the exact same time on opposite ends of Eurasia.

Home prices are up “a whopping 47% since early 2020,” leaving “homeownership out of reach to all but the most advantaged households,” reports the far-left NPR.

A report from the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies finds that “in nearly half of metro areas, buyers must make more than $100,000 to afford a median-priced home; in 2021, that was the case in only 11% of markets … and there are signs it could get worse.”

“The all-in monthly costs of the median-priced home in the U.S. [when adjusted for inflation] are the highest since these data were first collected more than 30 years ago.”

Naturally, the taxpayer-subsidized welfare queens at NPR cannot find it in themselves to drop the blame where it squarely belongs—at the feet of His Fraudulency Joe Biden. Instead, all we hear about is “the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Okay, ask yourself this…

Did the coronavirus do the following, or did Joe Biden…

President Joe Biden’s support among women is the lowest for any Democrat since 2004, a New York Times polling analysis found in June, while former President Donald Trump notched an eight-point lead over his opponent among the same demographic.

The analysis raises further concerns about the president’s chances of reelection in the wake of rising costs. Women, a key demographic for Democrats, make a large portion of buying decisions for their households, studies show.

Just four years ago, in 2020, Biden led Trump by 13 points among women. Now, Trump leads by eight points, a total gain of 21 points, according to the Times’s average of more than 30 polls conducted since January.

Biden’s soaring costs — over about 20 percent across the board — impacted the women’s vote, especially among black and Hispanic women, the analysis showed:

Latinos trust former President Donald Trump more than President Joe Biden on immigration, according to an Equis poll, released Thursday.

The poll showed that of 1,592 Latino registered voters in seven battleground states surveyed, 41 percent said they trust Trump on immigration, compared to only 38 percent who trust Biden.

The poll was conducted April 20-May 5, 2024, in English and Spanish, with a margin of error of ± 2.5 percentage points.

Carlos Odio, co-founder and senior vice president for research at Equis Labs, said Democrats no longer hold the advantage they once did with Latinos on immigration, according to Axios.

Odio said the problem for Democrats and Biden is “great uncertainty in support” for the president among Latino voters. There are 36.2 million Latinos eligible to vote in 2024.

Webmaster addition: I think the Latinos who came here legally are very angry at the ones who just walked across Joe Biden's open border!

Displaced Palestinians fetch water in Rafah. (Photo: Mahmoud Ajjour, The Palestine Chronicle)

“As infectious diseases continue to spread and temperature rises, lack of hygiene & dehydration threaten the health of people across Gaza.”

Infectious diseases continue to spread in the besieged Gaza Strip as 67 percent of its water and sanitation facilities have been destroyed or damaged by Israel’s war on the enclave, the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has said.

“Over the past 8 months in the Gaza Strip approximately 67% of water, sanitation facilities & infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged,” UNRWA said on X on Thursday. “As infectious diseases continue to spread and temperature rises, lack of hygiene & dehydration threaten the health of people across Gaza.

Claire's Observations:  You must understand; this is precisely the outcome the regime in Tel Aviv wants to see; having women and children die of opportunistic infections because of the lack of clean water, saves on bombs and bullets!!!!  And of course, with hospitals destroyed and Palestinian medical professionals  either jailed or assassinated, there is utterly no where to go for help.

Businesses are facing immense pressure from their workers to raise wages amid record-high inflation, and the fast-food industry is no exception to this trend. As fast-food restaurants have caved to the pressure and increased employee hourly pay, they are making customers foot the bill.

One of the latest fast-food establishments to hop on this trend is the beloved restaurant chain Waffle House. After months of facing pushback from its unionized workers over the past year to raise worker pay, as well as the inclusion of other benefits, the company finally announced to its workers a few weeks ago that their base pay will increase to $3 per hour starting this month and will eventually increase to $5.25 per hour by June 2026. Wages will also vary across states due to different minimum wage laws.

The UCA’s social debt observatory is considered an independent and prestigious research space whose reports on poverty cover a larger geographical area than those conducted by Argentina’s national statistics agency, INDEC. It also applies a methodology that addresses the problem with a more multidimensional approach and its findings are seldom questioned by politicians and economists.

According to the center’s latest report, the increase in poverty levels in January was partly due to the devaluation of the Argentine peso applied by the Milei government shortly after taking office on Dec. 10. This resulted in an increase in the price of the country’s basic basket — which includes food, services and non-food goods — and the basic food basket.

The moment of truth – another moment of truth – in the war will likely arrive within a few weeks. The Israel Defense Forces will complete their offensive action in Rafah, under American restrictions and far from inflicting a total defeat on Hamas, and will want to declare a conclusion. The generals will come to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and ask him to help them achieve strategic clarity.

They will recommend a cessation to the campaign in the Gaza Strip, in the present format. The army will suggest reducing the already limited number of troops operating in the Philadelphi Corridor along the Egyptian border and in the other corridor in the center of the Strip, and to focus on raids against additional Hamas targets and again giving other moves an opportunity.

Dramatic new video shows the latest ramming incident between Chinese and Philippine vessels in a contested area of the South China Sea, and it reveals clear escalation which involved the Chinese side clearly brandishing weapons.

The incident happened near the Second Thomas Shoal on Monday, where the Philippine military has troops stationed as part of its claim on the Spratly Islands (also claimed by Beijing). Manilla officials said their military vessels were en route there on a normal 'humanitarian resupply' mission when the boats were deliberately rammed and boxed in by Chinese coast guard ships.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken speaks to the media in Dubai, on 1 December, 2023 (Saul Loeb/AFP)

It takes a lot to get the diplomats of the Middle East to agree on anything. The behaviour of one man over the last eight months of the war in Gaza has, however, forged a consensus rare among such a group: Antony Blinken cannot be trusted.

The US secretary of state’s powers of turning reality on its head have raised the eyebrows of even practised cynics. It is a complaint that resounds from Doha to Amman, Cairo, Tel Aviv and Ankara.

Blinken is currently engaged in what one of his predecessors, James Baker, called “dead cat diplomacy”. Baker’s pupil, Aaron David Miller, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “The objective is not to reach a deal but to ensure if it fails, the dead cat is on other’s doorstep.”

The dead, or dying, cat of the moment is a ceasefire deal in Gaza that holds.

Indisputably, Hamas is closer to accepting this deal than Israel is. The evidence for this is mounting. Hamas signed a ceasefire deal presented by Egypt and Qatar, under the gaze of CIA Director Bill Burns, which would have ensured a permanent halt to the war.

Claire's Observations:  Blinken is just another one of Israel's" bargaining chips" on the issue of a non-workable, non-viable cease-fire, which will, of course, be blamed on the Palestinians and Hamas.

Unfortunately for Israel however, it has been thoroughly incapable of "controlling the narrative", and too much has been seen by the West, which cannot be unseen, and those are images of Gazan genocide and carnage, courtesy  of some very ballsy reporters and camera operators, are, and will be, witness to one of the most horrific, senseless slaughters in the history of the 21st century.

Blinken can "shuck and jive" for the cameras all he wants, but the indisputable fact is that the government of Israel has perpetrated a genocide on the Palestinian people, and is about to do the same in Lebanon, to assure their control of the Litani River.

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on this, but were I a betting person, I would bet that we will see US troops on the ground in Israel  and Ukraine well before Christmas this year.

Former President Donald Trump's trade war with China did not work out as planned, and one of his former advisors is finally admitting as much.

This week, Semafor's Morgan Chalfant wrote about the potential trade policies of a second Trump administration. Toward the end of his first term, Trump reached a $200 billion deal with China. For his possible second term, though, Trump has suggested a 10 percent tariff across the board on all imports, with additional tariffs as high as 60 percent on goods from China, the country's third-largest trading partner.

"I don't think we're going to see a deal like we saw in the first term," Robert O'Brien, Trump's fourth and final national security advisor, told Chalfant. "I think people were generally happy with [the previous deal], but as it turned out, the Chinese didn't honor it."
