"Nobody gets up one day and decides to be a terrorist for no reason. They don't hate us for our freedoms. They hate us and commit acts of terror because one day, as they are going about their normal lives, there is a horrendous blast and people they have known all their lives are lying in bloody shreds at their feet, mixed in with shrapnel stamped 'Made in the USA.'" -- Michael Rivero

After Shasta County ended its contract with Dominion Voting Systems over election fraud conspiracy theories, there were two options county leaders considered: 1) Enter an agreement with a different electronic voting system certified by the state of California, or 2) Attempt to count all ballots by hand  — which would come at a very steep cost and risk falling out of compliance with state law — and apparently hope that My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell pays the legal fees stemming from any possible lawsuits.

Guess which option the five-person board — now led by a conservative supermajority — chose.

"The whole thing is just hard to absorb and I'm in a little bit of shock," county elections chief Cathy Darling Allen told SFGATE on Tuesday evening, after the board voted 3-2 to hand-count all ballots. The vote came at the tail end of a laborious nine-hour meeting.

It’s obvious things have gotten bad when President Joe Biden’s talking points are being undercut by one of his most ardent lapdog economists

Biden took to the press podium March 13 to congratulate himself on his administration’s wild efforts to secure the deposits at Silicon Valley Bank following its historic collapse. Biden attempted to dismiss any notion that what he was pushing was a government bailout. “No losses will be — and this is an important point — no losses will be borne by the taxpayers. Let me repeat that. No losses will be borne by the taxpayers,” Biden claimed.

Not so fast, said New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman, aka Mr. “Transitory” inflation. “[Y]es, they were bailouts,” Krugman rebutted. “I wish the Biden administration weren’t trying to claim otherwise.”

It’s almost an understatement to say that Republican candidates campaigned hawkishly on border control in the runup to the 2022 midterms: As they decried the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs from Mexico, many vowed to impeach the man they largely blamed for the mess, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Republicans have continued hammering Mayorkas since taking control of the House. Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who called the flooding of more than 5 million illegal immigrants across the southern border since President Biden took office an “intentional” policy, has made several visits to the U.S.-Mexico border with other Republicans, and the House has held multiple hearings on immigration.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio blasted the Pentagon’s increasingly leftward bent as it struggles to keep up with national security interests.

“The United States military is the greatest fighting force in the world, but woke activists in the Biden Administration are undermining military readiness, cohesion, and purpose,” Rubio, R-Fla., told The Center Square. “We cannot allow these left-wing crazies to hollow out our military. The world is an increasingly dangerous place and America’s security requires a strong military capable of deterring – and if need be, defending – our nation.”

A Fox News panel saw participants marveling over the “enormous” popularity of Donald Trump as they analyzed a new poll showing him expanding an already sizeable lead over the rest of the GOP field for 2024.

The poll shows the former President with a massive 30-point lead over his nearest competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

While DeSantis has yet to formally declare, it has to be somewhat disheartening to see that he is making very little headway in polling.

When asked to choose from a list of potential Republican candidates, 54 percent of respondents went with Trump while just 24 percent chose DeSantis.

The Storming of the Bastille occurred in Paris on the afternoon of July 14, 1789. The Bastille was a medieval armory, fortress, and political prison. It was the symbol of Royal Authority under the reign of King Louis XVI.

The French monarchy was obliged to accept the authority of the newly proclaimed National Assembly as well as endorse the fundamental rights contained in the “Declaration des Droits de l’Homme et du Citoyen” (Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen), formulated in early August 1789.

More than 230 years later, these fundamental rights (Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité) are now being contravened by corrupt governments in France under Macron and around the world on behalf of a totalitarian and illusive financial establishment.

Appearing Hannity Wednesday, Senator Ted Cruz expanded on his comments earlier in the week to the head of the Department of Homeland Security, charging that Democrats are ignoring serious criminality at the border in the hope that illegal immigrants will become future voters.

“They are allowing it because they made a political choice,” Cruz said, asserting that the plan only works with the complicity of the establishment media to also ignore the crisis.

“At the beginning of the Biden administration, they decided unlimited illegal immigration, open borders, they view everyone of those 5.5 million illegal immigrants that have come in under Joe Biden as a future Democrat voter,” Cruz urged.

He added, “And so they’re perfectly willing to turn a blind eye, they don’t care about the children that are physically assaulted, that are sexually assaulted.”

“They don’t about the women who were raped. They don’t care about the dead bodies that are piling up,” the Senator proclaimed.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will say on Thursday that regulators may have to tighten banking rules in the wake of the banking crisis.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) obtained prepared remarks Yellen will deliver at the National Association for Business Economics, which will present her with an award in memory of former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volker, who was famous for cracking down on inflation. Yellen served as a Federal Reserve chair and other top posts at the nation’s central bank.

Yellen will use her remarks to implement more banking regulations that began in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

Anger at both individual regulators and a lack of sufficient banking regulation boiled over from the Senate to the House on Wednesday, as officials from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Treasury Department and Federal Reserve took heat from the Financial Services Committee in the wake of recent bank failures.

The government responded to the failures of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank earlier this month by stepping in and bailing out depositors well above the FDIC’s standard $250,000 insurance limit, with some account holders getting billions of dollars from the government’s deposit insurance fund (DIF).

Left-wing activists without children in the school came to intimidate parents who wanted to protect their children against sexualization and gender ideology in schools.

On Tuesday, hundreds of people lined up in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) headquarters parking lot due to public hearings about transgender students using school bathrooms.

According to the radicalized left-wing board’s website, “All students have the right to use the washrooms and other facilities they feel most comfortable with. This includes ‘boys,’ ‘girls,’ and all-inclusive facilities.”

It and other local boards facing similar criticism have pointed to the Ontario Human Rights Commission and Code to back up these rights.

When the existence of the Disinformation Governance Board burst into public view, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said there was nothing sinister to hide and claimed the office was rooted in "best practices."

A year later, Mayorkas' department is refusing to let Americans see most of the legal justifications and talking points it created to defend the now-disbanded board from "blowback," FOIA documents showed.

More than 100 pages of internal communication between the board's former executive director, Nina Jankowicz, and her staff were released with heavy redactions to the conservative nonprofit Citizens United.

Vladimir Putin isn’t afraid of anything that the United States or anyone else might say about him or try to accuse him of.

Instead, Putin is boldly announcing his latest round of plans related to his military ambitions worldwide. Radar Online reports that Putin says that he is planning on putting nuclear-powered super torpedo submarines in the Pacific Ocean by the end of the year.

This move is the latest in the ongoing war with Ukraine that started between Ukraine and Russia in February 2022. The 70-year-old Russian leader does not appear to be backing down or backing away from any of the plans he might have ever had. The Daily Star reports that Poseidon torpedoes will be positioned on Russia’s Belgorod and Khabarovsk nuclear submarines to put them out into the Pacific Ocean and potentially threaten Western allies that are by and large backing Ukraine in the conflict.

A new Wall Street Journal-NORC poll has found that core American values on patriotism, religion, and family no longer hold the same level of importance they once did for many of the respondents.

The survey, funded by the WSJ and conducted with NORC at the University of Chicago, a nonpartisan research organization, also revealed that the nation is divided on education and social issues such as the use of gender-neutral pronouns.

“Some 38% of respondents said patriotism was very important to them, and 39% said religion was very important. That was down sharply from when the Journal first asked the question in 1998, when 70% deemed patriotism to be very important, and 62% said so of religion,” reported the WSJ.

The WSJ continued, “The share of Americans who say that having children, involvement in their community and hard work are very important values has also fallen. Tolerance for others, deemed very important by 80% of Americans as recently as four years ago, has fallen to 58% since then.”
