Several days ago, I learned via John Cullen that the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) just ordered 4.8 million doses of the avian flu vaccine. However, there have been only three cases in America and fewer than 10 cases worldwide. This move does seem excessive, so what gives?

A private government report obtained this week in response to questions over the decision to kill over 500,000 chickens in Victoria, Australia shows that the people making the decision had no verifiable evidence of a high-risk infectious outbreak. The chicken farms that were claimed to be infected were so distant from any possible bird source that it was unlikely or impossible to have happened without deliberate intervention or manipulation of testing.

Buyers of electric cars in California may not have been aware of the new tax-by-the-mile plan before they decided to purchase their vehicles. Had they known about the potential added cost, they may have made a different decision. But regardless of personal choice, California law mandates that all new car sales be electric by 2035. “This pay-to-drive scheme essentially turns your car into a rental,” Patrick Wood said. After quoting from a course on technocracy in 1934, he added, “Don’t tell me that Technocracy is not in play here.”

The MHRA Yellow Card scheme has 1,500 reports of myocarditis. However, drug side effects are hugely underreported. “There’s data suggesting that 95% of cases are not reported and when you correct this level of underreporting, there could be 25,000-40,000 people with myocarditis from the covid vaccines in the UK,” cardiologist Dr. Dean Patterson testified to the People’s Vaccine Inquiry. “If you correct using my data, it could be 50,000,” he said.

Boeing's latest potential scandal is out of this world - literally. Its Starliner spacecraft - which carried two NASA astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) last week - is unable to undock after several faults were found on the ship. Teams have discovered five different leaks in the craft's propulsion system which would navigate the craft through space as it returns to Earth. The astronauts were set to return on June 14, but that has been delayed until June 22 while Boeing and NASA scramble to fix issues, leaving the astronauts stranded until then. Now, experts have said that NASA could be forced to launch a rescue mission that would be a highly embarrassing blow for the embattled Boeing which is dealing with spate of issues plaguing its commercial jets.

Meta on Friday said it's delaying its efforts to train the company's large language models (LLMs) using public content shared by adult users on Facebook and Instagram in the European Union following a request from the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC). The company expressed disappointment at having to put its AI plans on pause, stating it had taken into account feedback from regulators and data protection authorities in the region.
