A little over a week since his arrest, the Venezuelan illegal immigrant who taught fellow illegal immigrants how to take advantage of American “squatter’s rights” to take over people’s homes is claiming he is being unjustly persecuted.

In a recent interview with the New York Post which was conducted from an Ohio jail, Leonel Moreno said that he is being misrepresented in the news and even suggested that his life is at risk.

Hackers are actively exploiting a pair of recently discovered vulnerabilities to remotely commandeer network-attached storage devices manufactured by D-Link, researchers said Monday.

Roughly 92,000 devices are vulnerable to the remote takeover exploits, which can be remotely transmitted by sending malicious commands through simple HTTP traffic. The vulnerability came to light two weeks ago. The researcher said they were making the threat public because D-Link said it had no plans to patch the vulnerabilities, which are present only in end-of-life devices, meaning they are no longer supported by the manufacturer.

Although the Bank of England and the Government stated in January that no decision has been made to pursue a CBDC, also called a digital pound, in the same announcement it was proclaimed that “work will continue during the design phase exploring its feasibility and potential design choices.” To do this work, three years ago the Digital Pound Taskforce was created to work on the digital pound and related CBDC policy. Despite claiming no decision has been made, it seems they are indeed pursuing a CBDC. Meanwhile, a bill is moving through Parliament which could grant the Government extraordinary new financial surveillance powers. Is it just a coincidence?

Ten days after receiving a covid mRNA “vaccine,” a 13-year-old boy in New Zealand died suddenly from myocarditis, a known side effect of the injections. The coroner ruled that he couldn’t determine the exact cause of death, as viral particles could not be ruled out as a cause. The ruling failed to consider the larger scientific context and the need to analyse data from the entire population. Access to this data has been denied to New Zealanders; the coroner should have acknowledged this fact.

Israel described its clearly deliberate killing of seven humanitarian aid workers in Gaza on 1 April as a “grave mistake”, a “tragic event” of a kind that “happens in war”. Obviously, Israel was lying. In fact, this entire so-called war in Gaza — which is in reality a genocide — has been based on a series of lies, some of which Israel and its supporters continue to peddle.

For some in the mainstream media, it took months to accept the obvious fact that Israel has been lying about the events that led to its military offensive and the objectives of its constant targeting of hospitals, schools, shelters and other civilian facilities. As such, it was only logical for the occupation state to lie about killing the six internationals and their Palestinian driver working with the World Central Kitchen (WCK) charity. Notwithstanding an event as atrocious as this undoubtedly was, it is implausible for Israel to start telling the truth now.

Israel’s foreign minister said that Turkiye has “unilaterally violated” trade agreements with its decision to restrict exports to Israel, and that Israel will respond with its own trade restrictions on products coming from Turkiye, Reuters reports.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan “is again sacrificing the economic interests of the people of Turkiye in order to support Hamas, and we will respond in kind.”

This comes after the Turkish Trade Ministry announced today that Ankara will restrict exports of a wide range of products to Israel, including steel and jet fuel, until a ceasefire is declared in Gaza.

Attackers are now actively targeting over 92,000 end-of-life D-Link Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices exposed online and unpatched against a critical remote code execution (RCE) zero-day flaw. As BleepingComputer first reported on Saturday, this security vulnerability (CVE-2024-3273) is the result of a backdoor facilitated through a hardcoded account (username "messagebus" with an empty password) and a command injection issue via the "system" parameter. Threat actors are now chaining these two security flaws to deploy a variant of the Mirai malware (skid.x86). Mirai variants are usually designed to add infected devices to a botnet that can be used in large-scale distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. ... After the disclosure, D-Link released a security advisory on Thursday to notify owners about the security vulnerability and advise them to retire or replace the affected devices as soon as possible.

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has prompted calls for Washington to put conditions on the billions of dollars in military funding and other assistance it provides to Israel, which has received more US foreign aid since World War Two than any other country.

The following are details of US support for Israel as it carried out what the UN’s special rapporteur to the occupied territories has said is a genocide in Gaza.

Mandated by law

In 2016, the US and Israeli governments signed a third ten-year Memorandum of Understanding, covering the period from 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2028. The MOU provides a total of $38 billion in military aid over the ten years, $33 billion in grants to buy military equipment and $5 billion for missile defence systems.

Advanced weapons

Israel is the first international operator of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, considered the most technologically advanced fighter jet ever made. It is in the process of buying 75 F-35s and – as of last year – had taken delivery of 36, paying for them with US assistance.

The United States has also helped Israel develop and arm its Iron Dome short-range rocket defence system, developed after its 2006 war on Lebanon. The United States has repeatedly sent Israel hundreds of millions of dollars to help replenish its interceptor missiles.

Gaza’s government media office has reported more than one million cases of infectious diseases due to mass displacement in the besieged Gaza Strip, Anadolu Agency reports.

“Some 1,089,000 cases of infectious diseases and 8,000 cases of hepatitis C were recorded in Gaza,” the office said in a statement on Monday.

Israel has launched a deadly military offensive on the Gaza Strip since a 7 October Hamas attack, which killed nearly 1,200.

However, since then, it has been revealed by Haaretz that helicopters and tanks of the Israeli army had, in fact, killed many of the 1,139 soldiers and civilians claimed by Israel to have been killed by the Palestinian Resistance.

The onslaught has forced more than 1.4 million people to flee their homes and seek refuge in Rafah in the southern tip of the Gaza Strip near Egypt’s border.

“There are 10,000 cancer patients at the risk of death and urgently need medical care,” the media office said.

On March 29 I watched with horror as Jonathan A. Greenblatt, the Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) compared the Palestinian keffiyeh to the Nazi swastika on MSNBC’s show Morning Joe. The hosts did not challenge Greenblatt’s accusations and allowed him to demonize the Palestinian people. He intentionally wanted to spread fear and misinformation to the public. On that morning, he was successful.

The wars in Ukraine and Gaza have led several leading politicians to compare the current period with the 1930s, and to raise the possibility of a World War. Are these fears justified, or are they just fear-mongering?

To answer this question, we’re going to summarize events that are unknown to everyone, though well known to specialists. We shall do so dispassionately, at the risk of appearing indifferent to these horrors.

First, let’s distinguish between the conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. They have only two things in common:

They represent no significant stakes in themselves, but a defeat for the West, which, after its defeat in Syria, would mark the end of its hegemony over the world.

They are fueled by a fascist ideology, that of Dmytro Dontsov’s Ukrainian "integral nationalists" [1] and that of Vladimir Ze’ev Jabotinsky’s Israeli "revisionist Zionists" [2]; two groups that have been allies since 1917, but went underground during the Cold War and are unknown to the general public today.

There is, however, one notable difference between them:

In an effort to push back China’s influence and expand its presence in Oceania, the U.S. is renovating Lombrum Naval Base on the Island of Los Negros in Papua New Guinea.

The U.S. recently announced that the U.S. Navy is looking at three projects for Lombrum: a 7,556-square-foot Regional Maritime Training Center; a 7,351-square-foot small Boat Team and Boson Facility; and overhauling a 118-foot-long deteriorated small boat jetty. The combined expected price tag for these projects ranges from $11 million to $25 million.

“These…projects will support the PNGDF (Papua New Guinea Defence Force), maritime security operations, U.S. military personnel participating in joint exercises, and USINDOPACOM Theater Campaign Plan with various critical facilities located at Lombrum Naval Base.” reads the announcement.

The U.S. announced plans to redevelop Lombrum naval base in 2018, when former Vice President Mike Pence, announced that the U.S. would partner with both Australia and Papua New Guinea on the initiative.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that “there is a date” set for Israel’s plans to attack the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah but did not share when it would be.

“This victory requires entry into Rafah and the elimination of the terrorist battalions there. It will happen – there is a date,” Netanyahu said.

His comments came a day after the Israeli military withdrew troops from areas of southern Gaza, including the city of Khan Yunis, which was left in ruins.

Israeli Defense Minster Yoav Gallant said the purpose of the withdrawal was to prepare for the invasion of Rafah. Any Israeli assault on Rafah would incur huge civilian casualties as over one million Palestinians are packed into the city, and many are sheltering in tents on the street.

Opinion polls show nearly three-quarters of the Israel public want Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, with half the country also preferring earlier elections for the Knesset.

The Kan public broadcaster and Channel 12 both published surveys on Sunday to coincide with the six-month milestone since the war started on October 7 with a devastating attack on Israel by the Palestinian terror group Hamas.

Both polls showed the current government being ousted if elections were held immediately.

A row has been raging over whether the UK should continue to sell arms to the country after the airstrike last week, with questions over whether Israel has breached international law through its actions in the conflict.

Opposition parties and a raft of legal experts have demanded the government publishes the legal advice it has been given on whether sales should continue to ensure the UK is not complicit in any law-breaking activities.

Follow live: Pressure builds to publish Israel legal advice

The prime minister's official spokesperson said on Monday that the government would be as transparent as possible in explaining decisions around arms exports to Israel.

But they re-emphasised the "long-standing convention" that legal advice of this type was not routinely published.

Claire's Observations:  To the UK Parliament, a word, please.  As a US citizen, with a hell of a lot of British DNA in my family tree ( Yarbrough; and Rawson being among the family surnames) I am both appalled and gobsmacked, that you refuse to see the Israeli genocide of Palestinians (primarily women and children, to the best account) as a war crime.

It is glaringly apparent in this "profits uber alles" approach to weapons sales to Israel, that every single member of the House of Commons and House of Lords, has had their conscience surgically removed.  I very much despair for the future of UK citizens at this point.

More than half a million people have cast protest votes against President Biden’s support for the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza in Democratic primaries across the country.

According to The Nation, 530,502 people voted “uncommitted” or “uninstructed” where it’s available on the ballot. The movement started in Michigan, a significant swing state, where over 100,000 people voted “uncommitted.”

Last week, 48,091 votes were cast for “uninstructed” in the Wisconsin primary. The turnout far exceeded organizers’ expectations, as their goal was to secure 20,682, the margin of victory for Biden in Wisconsin for the 2020 election.

The opposition to Biden was strongest in the area of Wisconsin where University of Wisconsin–Madison students reside, historically a Democratic stronghold. In that area, 30% of voters cast ballots for “uncommitted,” something Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) called “a big, f**king deal.”

A Canadian reporter for one of the northern nation's only conservative media outfits was arrested Sunday and carted away for doing his job faithfully on public property.

Rebel News reporter David Menzies, who local and federal officials appear keen to shut up and lock away, confirmed to Blaze News that he was charged for alleged breach of the peace and trespassing for daring to pose questions to anti-Israel protesters outside Toronto City Hall.

Menzies indicated that he will be suing the Toronto Police Service over this incident just as he is suing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for a similarly rough arrest earlier this year.

With climate alarmists concerned over supposed global temperature increases and the corresponding war on fossil fuels sure to rob the clouds of a contributing brightener, some scientists are keen to pump out aerosols of their own.

Robert Wood, the lead UW scientist running the cloud project, noted on his university blog that the team at the CAARE facility developed a "Cloud-Aerosol Research Instrument (CARI)." This device, which has multiple nozzles and resembles a snow maker, can apparently fire trillions of salt particles into the air.

The UW indicated that once emitted, such particles would only remain airborne in the atmosphere for a few days.

Webmaster addition: And what happens when that salt settles on farmlands????????

Iran has told the United States that it will attack Israel directly unless the Biden administration secures a ceasefire in Gaza, according to an Arab diplomatic source who spoke with Jadeh Iran.

The ultimatum follows an Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic facility in Damascus last week. The source told Jadeh Iran that a ceasefire could also lead to progress on other aspects of the U.S.-Iran relationship. This comes following mediation by Oman between the U.S. and Iran.

The Iranian government has yet to confirm the news, and the Biden administration has flatly denied it. But if true, this reporting suggests a few important points.

First, it is clear that Iran wants to avoid a direct confrontation with Israel, but it cannot avoid it unless it secures a big win in the region. Tehran may suspect that a ceasefire is already in the offing, allowing it to use that as a pretext to both take credit for ending the war and avoid getting into a shootout with Israel.

The Biden administration's policy toward Gaza has come under increased pressure from Democrats on Capitol Hill. When Congress returns from a two-week recess on Monday, these members will have an opportunity to follow through on the sternly-worded letters and statements they have issued in recent weeks.

Despite an apparent shift in tone following the Israeli strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen staff last week, the Biden administration maintains that Israel is complying with international law — both in its war conduct and in its provision of humanitarian assistance. As a result, Washington continues to send weapons to Tel Aviv unimpeded. In March, The Washington Post reported that the Biden administration had greenlit more than 100 weapons packages for Israel that fell under the $25 million threshold that would necessitate that it notify Congress. Since then, the administration has continued to sign off on weapons packages, including as recently as the day of the strikes that killed the WCK staff.

The United States is waging an illegal war in Yemen, where major shipping routes along the country’s coastlines have been disrupted by ongoing violence in the region.

Despite widespread understanding in Washington that U.S. military operations in Yemen violate U.S. law, U.S. officials continue to insist that they must continue their military campaign, which they say is necessary to saving time and money on commercial shipping through the Middle East.

“The U.S. economy relies on open sea lanes,” U.S. General Michael Kurilla, the commander of U.S. Central Command, said at a March 7 Senate hearing, after being asked about the growing U.S. military presence in the Red Sea. “By our national security strategy, we will not allow a state or non-state actor to affect the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab al Mandeb, or the Suez Canal.”
