As reported by The Center Square, failure to comply with the White House’s leftist school agenda could result in the loss of federal tax funds administered through the Department of Agriculture.

The controversy began after the USDA announced in May 2022 that “it would change its longstanding interpretation of Title IX, the law broadly governing discrimination protections in education,” the outlet reported. “USDA said it would expand its previous prohibition against discriminating based on sex ‘to include discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.'”

Funding for school lunches goes through the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service.

By nearly a 2-to-1 margin, voters in Arkansas support calls for switching their state’s elections to paper ballots.

A new telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and the Arkansas Voter Integrity Initiative finds that 59% of Likely Arkansas voters support their state only allowing hand-marked ballots for voting, including 37% who Strongly Support the paper-ballots-only proposal. Thirty-one percent (31%) oppose allowing only hand-market ballots, including 17% who are Strongly Opposed. The man, identified as Paul Overeem, 28, was booked at the Travis County Jail on a charge of making a terroristic threat — a third-degree felony.

Venezuelans are voting in a referendum Sunday to supposedly decide the future of a large swath of neighboring Guyana that their government claims ownership of, arguing the territory was stolen when a north-south border was drawn more than a century ago.

Guyana considers the referendum a step toward annexation, and the vote has its residents on edge. It asks Venezuelans whether they support establishing a state in the disputed territory, known as Essequibo, granting citizenship to current and future area residents and rejecting the jurisdiction of the United Nations' top court in settling the disagreement between the two South American countries.

“We are solving through constitutional, peaceful and democratic means an imperial dispossession of 150 years,” President Nicolás Maduro said after voting in a military complex in Caracas, the capital.

The International Court of Justice on Friday ordered Venezuela not to take any action that would alter Guyana’s control over Essequibo, but the judges did not specifically ban officials from carrying out Sunday's five-question referendum.
