COMING UP SHORT THIS MONTH.
Thought for the day
"The executive power in our government is not the only, perhaps not even the principal, object of my solicitude. The tyranny of the legislature is really the danger most to be feared, and will continue to be so for many years to come. The tyranny of the executive power will come in its turn, but at a more distant period." -- Thomas Jefferson, Democracy in America
A 17-year-old girl who had "never even heard gunshots" before helped a Missouri police officer who was shot right in front of her, putting a tourniquet on him and helping the wounded officer call for help on his radio, KMBC-TV reported.
Many Venezuelan migrants living in New York City, a self-proclaimed sanctuary city, were offered a free ride down to Florida this weekend, where they have been promised hurricane cleanup work.
Our governing systems continue their hard-left, anti-freedom, Marxist shift, which is leading to the development of a parallel system that conservatives are flocking to.

former Pentagon advisor says the most likely culprits behind the Nord Stream pipeline blasts are the United States and Britain, and that the attack was carried out to prevent Germany from bailing on the war in Ukraine.
Retired US Army colonel Douglas Macgregor made the comments during an appearance on the Judging Freedom podcast.
Macgregor said a process of elimination rules out Germany, because they are dependent on Nord Stream for their energy security, while it also served no benefit for Russia to have sabotaged its own infrastructure.
“Would the Russians destroy their own pipeline? 40 percent of Russian gross national product or gross domestic product consists of foreign currency that comes into the country to purchase natural gas, oil, coal and so forth. So the Russians did not do this. The notion that they did I think is absurd,” Macgregor said.
Former Fox News host Chris Wallace’s CNN debut went over like a lead balloon. Wallace’s new show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” flopped, attracting fewer than 44,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic — 64% lower than CNN’s average for the 7:00 PM ET time slot.
Ratings figures by Nielsen Media Research demonstrate a crushing opening for Wallace. In addition to missing the key demographic, Niesel reports that overall viewership was down 29 percent compared to the average at 401,000 viewers.
Former congressman Trey Gowdy’s popular Fox program, “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy,” debut numbers crushed Wallace’s. Premiering in June 2021, Gowdy’s show earned 1.3 million views with 78,000 in the key 25-54 demographic — almost double Wallace’s debut.
The head of the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) has formally blamed damage done to a pair of Russian-owned natural gas pipelines on “sabotage,” though an increasing number of analysts believe that the organization’s most powerful member — the United States — was responsible.
The People's Bank of China has told major state-run banks to prepare to shed dollar holdings while snapping up offshore yuan, which has continued to fall despite prior interventions, sources told Reuters.
The scale of this latest effort to prop up the yuan will be big and could provide a floor to the Chinese currency, according to the report.
The amount of dollars to be sold hasn't been decided yet, but Reuters said it will primarily involve the state banks' currency reserves. Their offshore branches, including those based in Hong Kong, New York and London, were ordered to review offshore yuan holdings and check to see that dollar reserves are ready.
Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong says nothing is going to get better by the end of 2022, and he is still forecasting “chaos” coming in 2023.
Armstrong says the plunge in the stock market last week is all because of “extreme uncertainty.” Armstrong predicted a stock market crash two months ago and contends, “It’s not over.”
Europe is in big financial trouble with Russian natural gas turned off as a retaliation from the sanctions. Armstrong explains:
“In Europe, I believe they are actually deliberately doing this, and this is Klaus Schwab’s ‘Great Reset.’
They know they have a serious problem.
They lowered rates to below 0% in 2014. They just started raising interest rates. Meanwhile, you ordered all the pension funds throughout Europe to have more than 70% in government bonds. Then they took it negative.
All the pension funds are insolvent. Europe is fiscal mismanagement on a grand scale. There is no way it can sustain itself, and we are looking at Europe breaking apart.”
Once again, YouTube has proven itself to be little more than a propaganda platform for the globalist left after taking down a viral video of new Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Over 15,000 German stores are facing bankruptcy due to soaring energy costs, Der Spiegel reported on Friday, citing the German Retail Association (HDE).
According to the report, the HDE wrote a letter to Vice-Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck in which it warned that the “exploding energy costs” are making it impossible for increasing numbers of retailers to make ends meet. The group called the situation “existentially threatening” and said that around 16,000 businesses may go bankrupt this year, while the “negative trend” is likely to continue through 2023.
Dr. William Makis, a doctor in Canada, has written to the Presidents of the Canadian Medical Association to draw their attention to what appears to be an extraordinarily high death rate among doctors in Canada, 32 of whom died “suddenly and unexpectedly” in the past 16 months.
Dr. Makis points out that all of them were double, triple or quadruple COVID‐19 vaccinated, and argues each death is “highly suspicious for COVID‐19 vaccine injury, as these previously healthy doctors died suddenly while engaging in regular physical activity, died unexpectedly in their sleep, suffered heart attacks, strokes, unusual accidents, or developed sudden onset aggressive cancers”.
Steve Kirsch reports that Dr. Makis has received no response to his letter sent four weeks ago.
Europeans who think the current mounting (and worsening) energy crisis on the continent is only going to last this coming winter will need to think again, according to a new analysis of the situation.
One out of every three Americans is overweight, and half of those consumers are obese. One out of every three Americans will develop cancer in their lifetime. One out of every three Americans also have pre-diabetes. Over 30 million Americans have heart disease right now. The country is riddled with preventable diseases that barely existed a century ago.
On Sunday, UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg expressed “regret” over the failure of Yemen’s warring parties to extend a nationwide ceasefire agreed in April, and called on both sides to “fulfill their obligation to the Yemeni people to pursue every avenue for peace.” The Houthis and Yemen’s Gulf State-backed government have been at war since 2015.
Yemen’s Houthi militia have warned foreign oil companies to get their affairs in order and leave Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates post haste, hinting at the possibility of fresh drone and missile strikes against the Gulf nations’ energy infrastructure.
The Republican party has reached a favorable rating of 44% compared to the Democratic party's 39% a little more than a month before of the midterm elections in the United States even though the image of the two major political parties has shifted only slightly since last year, a new Gallup poll revealed on Monday.
"Both parties' images have shifted slightly since last year, with the GOP's favorable rating edging up four percentage points to 44% and the Democratic Party's rating slipping by the same amount, to 39%," a release on the poll said.
While more than 80% of Democrats and Republicans view their own party favorably, support among Democrats for their party has fallen 8% from the last year, while support by Republicans has remained unchanged, the release said.
Fifty-seven percent of Americans believe today that the Republican party is doing a better job at protecting the United States from international terrorism and only 37% said the Democrats are doing a better job, the release said.
The Biden administration has pledged to provide $1.5Bln a month to Kiev to keep the Ukrainian economy afloat and is pushing the EU to commit to a similar package, Bloomberg has reported. Meanwhile, the EU is facing a severe economic slowdown, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has warned.
"Since the beginning of the 'Ukraine issue' back in 2008 to 2014, it was clear to me that the Anglosphere has used it as a Trojan horse to check both EU [Germany] and Russia," says Paolo Raffone, a strategic analyst and director of the CIPI Foundation in Brussels. "The EU leadership is fundamentally working against European interests, abiding by the policy dictated by the US/UK/NATO. No doubt the EU will be saddled with the greatest share of rebuilding Ukraine that will be, together with Poland, a US/UK strategic fiefdom in Eastern Europe to separate the EU from Russia and therefore stymie Germany's heft as a regional and global player. [This is] just like the 1901 Mackinder theory."
By infusing tens of billions of dollars’ worth of military aid into Ukraine, NATO produced a “game-changing” dynamic designed to throw Russia off balance. By undertaking the referendums in Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, and Lugansk, Russia changed the game altogether.
The ancient Greeks spoke of lemma as representing a logical premise, a matter taken for granted. This contrasted with a dilemma, or “dual premise”, where one would be presented with an either/or proposition. The Romans furthered this notion, referring to a “double premise” as argumentum cornutum, of the “horned argument,” because by answering one argument, an individual would be impaled by the logic of the second. Thus are the ancient roots of the modern idiom, “on the horns of a dilemma.”
This is the ultimate objective of maneuver warfare, for example: to position your forces in such a manner as to present the enemy with no good option – should they react to one pressing threat, they would find themselves overwhelmed by the other.
Germany’s permanent representative to NATO has explained that the US-led bloc is not obliged to offer direct military assistance to Ukraine. Ruediger Koenig added that its members want to avoid a major war.
He was speaking to Dein Spiegel, the youth version of Der Spiegel magazine, which published the interview on Saturday.
The Ukraine conflict dominated much of the article, with Koenig describing Russia’s decision to launch its offensive against its neighbor in late February as a watershed event.
“We had peace, and now we see all of a sudden that one country is attacking another one just like that, in Europe,” the official said, adding that no one could have imagined anything like that.
Among countless gaffes and incidents of bizarre behavior performed by Joe Biden, the 79-year-old head of state recently at a White House event asked for Republican representative for Indiana's second congressional district, Jackie Walorski, who was actually killed in a car accident roughly two months ago.
US President Biden's recent gaffe regarding a dead politician was dismissed on NBC’s 'Meet the Press' on Sunday as a “slip of the tongue”.
Symone Sanders-Townsend, former spokeswoman for vice-president Kamala Harris, said that the US President’s verbal slip regarding representative Jackie Walorski was “unfortunate.”
Moderator Chuck Todd had asked Sanders-Townsend - now an MSNBC host - how she would have handled the slip-up, which the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had refused to admit was a mistake by the POTUS. He played clips of Biden and Jean-Pierre's response.
Today the US is deploying one of the world's most advanced aircraft carriers to the Atlantic, complete with nuclear reactors and fighter jets.
The USS Gerald R Ford is sailing from Virginia, USA to the Atlantic Ocean and carrying a NATO strike group.
It's unclear whether the launch is linked to the conflict in Ukraine but as the carrier cost the US more than $13billion (£11bn), the country's navy is obviously keen to show it off.
As reported by investigative journalist Jordan Schachtel on his Substack, the Fed “has taken a major step in the direction of facilitating an ESG compliant monetary network that effectively acts as a parallel system to that of the Chinese Communist Party’s infamous social credit scoring system.”
ESG — which stands for Environment, Social, and Governance in investing — “refers to a set of standards for a company’s behavior used by socially conscious investors to screen potential investments,” according to Investopedia. What that means in practice, of course, is that regardless of the potential for earning profits for shareholders, which banks and corporations are beholden by law to always strive for, these institutions instead only invest in “politically correct” industries and sectors. No fossil fuels, for instance, as oil and gas are so early 2000s; no big tobacco; and nothing that has anything to do with Israel, just to name a few (because the hard left is comprised of true bigots and racists).
“Six of the nation’s largest banks will participate in a pilot climate scenario analysis exercise designed to enhance the ability of supervisors and firms to measure and manage climate-related financial risks,” the Fed noted in a statement last week. “Scenario analysis—in which the resilience of financial institutions is assessed under different hypothetical climate scenarios—is an emerging tool to assess climate-related financial risks, and there will be no capital or supervisory implications from the pilot.”
This afternoon at about 4:00 PM eastern US Time, a Boeing E-6B "Mercury" took off from Washington, DC. This is the U.S. "Looking Glass" - airborne National Command Post to command US nuclear forces worldwide in the event ground stations are all destroyed.
As seen in the flight radar image below, the aircraft took off, flew south into southern North Carolina, turned southeast out into the Atlantic Ocean, and turned its Transponder OFF.
The testimony was to bring light to how limiting access to abortions can hurt patients. Then, it took a laughable twist when the doctor claimed that men could get pregnant and give birth.
Fox News reports, “Dr. Kumar was testifying at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing called by Democrats. The hearing was to discuss how restricting abortions can hurt patients. He was replying to a question from Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga. Clyde interrupted Kumar and specified that he was asking if biological men can become pregnant.”
The doctor stated, “Somebody with a uterus may be capable of becoming pregnant, whether they’re a woman or a man. That doesn’t make a difference.”
Trump’s lawyers had asked for a special master to review the documents seized from the residence, and Judge Cannon agreed. However, the Department of Justice is asking for an expedited appeal of the decision as they say the special master is slowing down their investigation.
The Department of Justice filed on Friday, September 30, with the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, asking that the appeal be heard by November 14, 2022. The DOJ is claiming that it cannot examine certain records taken from Mar-A-Lago until the work of the special master is done, and they say that some of
those records may contain evidence of crimes. The DOJ continued by saying that they are interested in examining the records to determine who may have had access to them, what the classification status of certain documents is, and other factors that could contribute to a criminal case that may be made against the former President.
The legacy media has changed its mind. We are now informed that life-changing transgender surgeries on minors are real and that they’re spectacular.
Just a month ago, when the Twitter account “LibsofTikTok” revealed videos and audio from Boston Children’s Hospital talking about various transgender surgeries (such as hysterectomies) and “treatments,” legacy media pumped out a wave of “fact checks” insisting that this was all conspiracy theory.
To suggest that Boston Children’s Hospital would do what it was advocating in public videos and private audio was hateful, dangerous, right-wing conspiracy theory, you see.
While an overwhelming share of American voters believe the rising trend of overdoses from the opioid drug fentanyl is a serious issue and becoming a bigger problem, a new poll suggests nearly two-thirds don't know the scale of the problem in the United States.
A national survey of 1,000 likely U.S. voters conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC for Rasmussen Reports from Sept. 26 to Sept. 27 by phone and finds that 91% of participants believe the country's fentanyl issue is serious, with 73% describing it as a "very serious problem."
The poll's margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% confidence level.
Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell assured the agency will provide Hurricane Ian relief to "all communities" after Vice President Kamala Harris remarked that the Biden administration believes aid should be distributed "based on equity."
"We're going to support all communities," Criswell said on CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday, after being asked to respond to Harris' remarks two days earlier. "I committed that to the governor; I commit to you right here that all Floridians are going to be able to get the help that is available to them through our programs."
At the Democratic National Committee's Women's Leadership Forum last Friday, Harris said, "it is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making."
The leftist Big Tech overlords may finally face a day of reckoning as the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a challenge to the Section 230 law that governs how tech platforms moderate free speech.
USA Today summarized that the case will have “potentially enormous consequences for social media.” It is the “court’s first test of the broad immunity social media companies have enjoyed under a provision known as Section 230, part of the 1996 Communications Decency Act,” Bloomberg News stated.
