"Dilbert" creator and author Scott Adams asks this question about voting machines.

"What's the point of voting machines? Do they make things more secure? No, it's less secure. Does it give you results faster? No, it does not. Does it reduce your cost? Obviously not, paper is pretty cheap. Either way, when you're using the voting machines, it still needs paper. You don't even save paper most of the time," he said.

"Given all of these complaints from Puerto Rico, can you tell me why we have them?"

Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Zelensky are planning to sign a deal for long-term US military assistance for Ukraine, a country whose government we now know is involved in the trafficking of children for sex and harvesting the organs of its own soldiers for profit.

If that sounds too sensational to be true, read on. The evidence is hiding in plain sight. See post below from X, and I will provide a video later in this article that contains more proof of what’s really going on in Ukraine. It will turn your stomach.

Good news! Israel has agreed to accept Biden’s ceasefire deal as long as it can keep fighting. This is from CNN:

Israeli statement on Tuesday indicated it was poised to formally sign up to the current ceasefire plan for Gaza, while at the same time maintaining the freedom to keep fighting. CNN

Can you see how absurd this is? It’s like the fat man who agrees to go on a diet as long as he can still eat as much as he wants. It’s nonsense.

House Speaker Mike Johnson expressed disappointment on Friday over the Justice Department’s (DOJ) decision not to prosecute Attorney General Merrick Garland after the House voted to hold him in contempt for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena. Johnson announced plans to take the subpoena to federal court and certify the contempt reports.

The DOJ stated that Garland’s refusal to comply with the subpoena, which instructed him to turn over an audio recording of President Joe Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur, did not “constitute a crime.” This decision follows the GOP-led House’s vote on Wednesday to hold Garland in contempt, passing the resolution with a 216–207 vote.

“The House disagrees with the assertions in the letter from the Department of Justice,” Johnson wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “As Speaker, I will be certifying the contempt reports to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. It is sadly predictable that the Biden Administration’s Justice Department will not prosecute Garland for defying congressional subpoenas even though the department aggressively prosecuted Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro for the same thing.”

The Biden administration is making plans to announce one of the largest immigration relief programs in recent history, developing a policy that would offer legal status to hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the country without proper documents, four people familiar with the plans told CBS News.

A program being developed by White House officials would offer work permits and deportation protections to unauthorized immigrants married to U.S. citizens, as long as they have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years, the sources said, requesting anonymity to talk about internal government plans.

The proposal, known as "Parole in Place," would also open up a pathway to permanent legal status and U.S. citizenship for some beneficiaries by removing an obstacle in U.S. law that prevents those who entered the U.S. illegally from obtaining green cards without leaving the country.

Another plan being prepared by the Biden administration would streamline the process for so-called DREAMers and other undocumented immigrants to request waivers that would make it easier for them to obtain temporary visas, such as H-1B visas for high-skilled workers, the sources said.

It has been a thousand days since girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan have been able to attend secondary school.

The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) said that girls in Afghanistan have lost three billion "learning-hours" by being barred from school.

It has been a thousand days since girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan have been able to attend secondary school.

Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director, said: “For 1.5 million girls, this systematic exclusion is not only a blatant violation of their right to education, but also results in dwindling opportunities and deteriorating mental health. The rights of children, especially girls, cannot be held hostage to politics. Their lives, futures, hopes and dreams are hanging in the balance.”

"Today we are witnessing many consequences. Forced and underage marriages have increased, if it continues like this, all families will want their daughters to seek their fortune. We hope that the Islamic Emirate government will pay attention and open the closed doors," Tafsir Syahposh, a women’s rights activist, told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, female students once again urged the Islamic Emirate to reopen the secondary and high schools for girls.

Freshta, like thousands of other girls who have been deprived of education and are now learning the art of painting, told TOLOnews: "A thousand days have passed, but we couldn't go to school and achieve our goals. This causes us to consider migration."

"When my brother goes to school and has free access to his lessons; seeing this makes me upset and even cry," said Muhadessa, a girl deprived of education.

On September 17, 2022, the Islamic Emirate ordered all secondary and high schools for girls to remain closed until further notice.

Claire's Observations:  To the Taliban Leadership, a word, please;   These women, deprived of an education in their home country, will start to "vote with their feet", leaving your birth rate plunging to utterly unsustainable levels.  Think about the vastly declining birth rates in China and Japan; that will give you a reasonable picture of what happens when  women either  leave, or no longer have kids.

I don't know what the Pashtun word for "coyote" would be, but that word, relative to people who specialize in smuggling people from one part of the planet, to another, will definitely start to come up in conversation.  These people are smart, wily, and know how to get around law enforcement very easily.

Have a great day, gentlemen, and please remember; When you lose your women through this policy, you will lose the future of your country.  Just saying!!!

President Biden said on Thursday that he doesn’t expect a Gaza ceasefire deal to be reached anytime soon as the Israeli slaughter and starvation of Palestinians continues.

According to The Associated Press, Biden was asked at the Group of Seven summit if he thought a truce deal would be reached soon. He simply replied, “No,” and added that he still hasn’t “lost hope.”

His comments came a few days after Hamas responded to the ceasefire proposal that President Biden publicly outlined on May 31. The Times of Israel reported that the main sticking point is that Hamas wants Israel to commit to a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal from Gaza up front.

The initial proposal involved a first phase with a six-week ceasefire, and during that time, a permanent truce would be negotiated and then implemented in the second phase. Israeli officials thought the language was vague enough that Israel and Hamas could enter the first phase without Israel actually committing to a permanent ceasefire.

After Biden first outlined the proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected it, saying he wouldn’t agree to a permanent ceasefire until Israel achieves its goals in Gaza, which includes the destruction of Hamas. Netanyahu’s repeated rejection of a permanent truce led Hamas to seek stronger assurances.

Despite Netanyahu’s rejection of Biden’s proposal, US officials continue to claim it was accepted by Israel and are putting all the blame for the lack of a deal on Hamas.

Claire's Observations:  So, we are supposed to thank Resident By-di-Bye for his magnificent grasp of the obvious, then lie to us at the same time that the lack of a cease-fire being "... all Hamas' fault"?!?

Good try," By"; We"the People will give you a "Participation Trophy" to make you feel "good" about your abject failure in stopping the genocide in Gaza!!!!

You have been - and continue to be - impotent to stop Netanyahu's continuing slaughter of Palestinians; and you think you deserve a medal for this?!? There is no "win" here for you, whatsoever.

And to the By-DI-Byedenistas:  please gently get him back in the basement, where he can do less harm and damage.   The moment he opens his mouth in public, he's in real trouble.

I cannot wait to see that first debate... IF it happens, that is :-)!!!!!

He once again denounced this as brazen 'threft' and described that Western leaders are trying to come up with "some kind of legal basis" for the asset freezes, "but despite all the trickery, theft is still theft and will not go unpunished."

Attorney General Merrick Garland testifies before the House Judiciary Committee in Congress in Washington on Sept. 20, 2023. (Madalina Vasiliu/The Epoch Times)

An official from the Department of Justice (DOJ) told House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) in a letter that Attorney General Merrick Garland will not be prosecuted for contempt of Congress because his refusal to hand over audio recordings of President Joe Biden’s interview with a prosecutor did not amount to a crime.

In the letter, which was obtained by several media outlets, the DOJ official said that Mr. Garland’s refusal to comply with a subpoena demanding audio records of an interview that special counsel Robert Hur conducted with President Biden in his investigation into the president’s alleged mishandling of classified documents “did not constitute a crime.”

Consistent with this longstanding position and uniform practice, the Department has determined that the responses by Attorney General Garland to the subpoenas issued by the Committees did not constitute a crime, and accordingly the Department will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute the Attorney General,” Carlos Felipe Uriarte, an assistant attorney general, wrote in the letter.

The letter also cited DOJ policy not to prosecute officials for contempt of Congress when they don’t comply with subpoenas due to a presidential claim of executive privilege.

A request for comment and confirmation of the content of the letter sent to the DOJ was not immediately returned.

Claire's Observations: HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!!! And yet Steve Bannon is in prison for precisely the same thing?!? Do not even try to explain to me, that the (alleged) Department of Justice (now the Department of "Just Us!") has not been politicized beyond belief.  I have become so cynical, that even THIS does not shock me; it was perfectly predictable, given the rantings, ravings, and continual  solipsisms of the current regime

Prosecutors in Hunter Biden’s upcoming tax trial referred to the first son as a lobbyist in their indictment. Was it just a biography reference or a signal of fresh legal jeopardy?

Here is what we know.

Biden originally worked as a lobbyist for a brief period in between 2001 and 2008, stopping before his father ran for president. But Biden continued to earn lucrative monies throughout his later business career as he partnered with foreign partners that sought to influence U.S. policy.

This work has potentially opened him up to more legal jeopardy as the Justice Department reportedly considers whether he violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) — the same law that brought down former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.

When Israel killed twins in front of their father

Doaa Shaheen The Electronic Intifada

Israel’s attack on Nuseirat has been compared to “the gates of hell [being] opened” by one witness.

Omar Ashtawy APA images

Samer Walid was eating a meal given to his family in food aid when the sounds of gunfire started coming from all directions.

A moment later, he heard shelling and a series of missiles being dropped on particular locations. Fire belts – as they are known in Gaza.

As he tried to calm down his children, Samer asked Rehab, his wife, to grab some essentials so that they could flee their home in Nuseirat refugee camp.

They did not have time to do so. Suddenly, Israeli soldiers attacked his house.

“They were heavily armed, with their faces covered,” Samer said.

“And they were screaming in Hebrew, which I couldn’t understand,” he added. “They shot me and I collapsed to the floor.”

The forces then killed Samer’s twin sons Yazan and Omar, 12.

“They were shot dead in front of me,” he said. “In cold blood.”

“I was unable to help them,” he added. “I was bleeding.”

“The ambulance crews were unable to reach us because the bombing was continuing. We were trapped in the house for two hours, soaked in our blood.”

The soldiers locked his wife Rehab and two of their other children in a room. The soldiers then made a hole in the wall of the house and went through it into an adjacent building.

Rehab recalled how she was locked in the room throughout the massacre. After everything had gone silent, she forced her way out of the room by breaking the door.

When she found Samer and the bodies of the twins on the floor, “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” she said.

In a state of shock, Rehab went onto the street barefoot.

“All the neighbors’ houses were destroyed,” she said. “Everyone was running away and screaming.”

A large number of corpses could be seen on the ground.

“I saw burnt bodies and I saw bodies sliced to bits,” she said. “And I saw my neighbor carrying her son in her arms, without his head.”

A man on the street agreed to bring Samer and the twins to hospital on an animal-drawn cart.

When they arrived at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the nearby city of Deir al-Balah, it was confirmed that the twins were dead.

More than 270 Palestinians were killed by Israel in its 8 June attack on Nuseirat refugee camp. Yazan and Omar were among them.

“They were not guilty of anything,” Rehab said. “They loved life and wanted to be engineers when they grew up.”

Claire's Observations:  Your tax dollars are providing the bombs and bullets for the Israeli genocide of Gaza; doesn't it make you feel proud?!?!?

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via modernity.news,

Right-wing Austrian political party FPÖ wants to appoint a ‘Remigration Commissioner’ who will oversee the deportation of illegal immigrants.

The Freedom Party of Austria won the EU elections after obtaining 25.4 per cent of the vote and gaining 3 seats, marking the first time that the FPÖ has emerged as the strongest political party in the country.

When asked why they were voting for FPÖ, 62% of FPO supporters stated that they “wanted to make a statement on domestic policy.”

That includes addressing Austria’s problem with illegal immigration, which authorities have taken a tougher stance on over the last year.

Now the Freedom Party is demanding the right to appoint MP Dr. Susanne Fürst to take the role of ‘remigration commissioner’ in order to accelerate the deportation of criminal migrants.

Claire's Observations:  The 55 year old Furst, a lawyer, has been an FPO member of the National Council since 2017; And here is how Wikipedia.com defines this party: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Party_of_Austria

And although some of the derogatory descriptions, may be a little extreme,  the problems illegal immigration bring, are also.... extreme, and there is no amount of "hopium/changium" the German government can possibly ingest, to change this.

When you have an immigrant population which considers immigration a right, and not a privilege, your country will be in trouble.

When you have an immigrant population which believes their religion and government structure is so superior to that in the country which has adopted them, that they are demonstrating in favor of a caliphate, as happened in Germany recently, https://nypost.com/2024/04/29/world-news/protesters-call-for-islamic-state-in-germany-caliphate-is-the-solution/ your country is in trouble.  And if caliphates are so great, why did these people, and/or their ancestors, leave their home countries, where there are MANY caliphates?!?

When you have defenseless native-born kids getting beat up, because of their choices in clothing, or their religion, if it is NOT Muslim, your country is in trouble.

When you have illegal migrants bringing in diseases your country which medical professionals thought they had conquered, decades ago, your country is in trouble.

When you have illegal migrants establishing a flourishing illegal drug trade in major cities, and boosting gang activities, your country is in trouble.

I am neither right  nor left wing;  I'm just an American gal who wants to see the best for ALL our citizens.  But this cannot happen without intelligent border controls,  about which this current regime, doesn't give a bloody flying Frisbee.

The illegals flooding our non-existent borders, most probably couldn't make it in their countries of origin, so they come here for getting "baby -sat" to the tune of trillions of dollars.  They will need to be fed; housed; given an education;  and cared for medically; how much is this supposed to be paid by the already tapped-out US taxpayers?!?!?   ALL of it, my dears; you're on the hook, with utterly no say in how and when it will stop.

But as in Germany, it must stop, because it is destroying our way of life, and quality of life.

A senior official of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has warned the Israeli regime of a “decisive” response in case of expanding the scope of its war on Lebanese soil.

Sheikh Naim Qassem, deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, issued the warning in a ceremony in the capital Beirut on Friday as fire exchanges between the Lebanese resistance movement and Israeli troops intensified over the week following the targeted killing of a senior Hezbollah commander in the country’s south.

Sami Abdallah, better known by the nom the guerre Abu Taleb, was killed along with three other people in the Israeli strikes that targeted a residential building in the southern Lebanese town of Jwaya on Tuesday.

Sheikh Qassem said the Lebanese resistance had struck several sites in the occupied territories in retaliation for Abdallah’s assassination, and would also respond to any expansion of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, no matter how limited.

The resistance movement, he said, “targeted barracks, military personnel, and combat sites within a distance of between three and five kilometers and avoided targeting civilians” and engaging in direct military action.

Paula Scanlan, a one-time teammate of Lia Thomas, said that she deserves an apology for being "forced to undress" in the same locker room as the transgender swimmer "18 times a week" while they were swimmers at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her comments on X came after news broke that Thomas, 25, lost her case against World Aquatics at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), in a decision that will keep her from having a chance at competing at the Paris Olympics, which start on July 26, reported the Daily Mail.

Thomas was the first transgender NCAA champion in Division I history, but after that, World Aquatics voted to restrict transgender athletes from participating in elite women's events. Scanlan, in her post, referred to Thomas as "him" while asking if anyone would apologize for Thomas' presence in locker rooms.
