"The executive power in our government is not the only, perhaps not even the principal, object of my solicitude. The tyranny of the legislature is really the danger most to be feared, and will continue to be so for many years to come. The tyranny of the executive power will come in its turn, but at a more distant period." -- Thomas Jefferson, Democracy in America

The military media of Hezbollah has published a new video showing vital Israeli targets “known only to the Israeli security system”.

This was released as Israeli officials are making threats to launch a full-fledged war on Lebanon although military experts say the Israeli occupation regime does not have the capability or manpower of doing so against a formidable Lebanese force.

The new video included a segment from a speech by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Wednesday in which he warned the occupation regime that the Lebanese resistance would fight “without constraints, rules, or limits” if war were imposed on Lebanon.

He emphasized that those contemplating war against Lebanon would regret it.

Nasrallah’s words in the new clip were accompanied by translations into English and Hebrew, while the video displayed coordinates, both longitude and latitude for the targets presented without naming them.

Before the video was aired Hezbollah’s military media published a statement saying: “Stay tuned… for those concerned.”

According to reliable sources cited by regional media, the video was intentionally vague, with no specific targets identified. The sources explained that it was a message understood only by decision-makers and relevant circles in Israel.

The Pentagon has refused to comment on the deadly Ukrainian cluster munition attack on a crowded beach in Sevastopol, Russia on Sunday, RIA Novosti has reported. The Ukrainian attack carried out with US-supplied ATACMS missiles killed at least four people, among them two children, and injured 151, according to local officials.

Four missiles were intercepted by air defenses, while a fifth deviated from its trajectory and detonated its cluster warhead over the busy Black Sea beach, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

When RIA asked the Pentagon about the use of US supplied weapons in the strike on Sunday, an official replied, “we have seen the reports and have nothing to say.”

A federal appeals court has ruled against the Biden administration’s initial Title IX guidance that was announced in 2021. The controversial guidance sought to include sexual orientation and gender identity under Title IX's protections and penalize schools that bar transgender-identifying students from using the bathrooms or participating in sports based on their gender identity. In other words, the provisions in Title IX that allowed for protections and set-asides on the basis of biological sex were made to be extended to gender identity, as well.

After the Biden administration announced these revised guidelines, 20 Republican-led states challenged the decision by filing a lawsuit against the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in federal court. Most of these states had pre-existing bans that prevented transgender-identifying athletes from competing on school teams that align with their gender identity rather than their biological sex. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a preliminary injunction against the guidance on June 14, siding with the 20 states that brought the case forward.

Have you looked at what's in your gums under a microscope? Please don't, you may faint from the horror. Your whole mouth is a cesspit of toxicity, but your gums are off the charts: if you were to spit into a tidal pool, everything would die: corals would bleach, fish would go belly-up, jellyfish would explode, every bit of seaweed would shrivel up. Yes, it's that bad. But fortunately there's something that will knock down the toxicity of your gums: Crestfallen Pro-Health Gum Detoxify. Load your toothbrush with this amazing product three times a day--four if you have a midnight snack--and the toxins in your gums will diminish.

The U.S. Supreme Court is poised to release a number of significant rulings in the coming week, including ones relating to whether former President Donald Trump enjoys broad immunity for his activities as president; obstruction charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach; social media laws; and the power of federal agencies.

The high court tends to release all of its decisions for a term by the end of June, and only several days remain in the month. The justices have yet to release 14 cases for the term, which started in October 2023.

The series of leaks and statements in the past few days reflect the steady escalation on the Israeli-Lebanese front. To a great extent, the reciprocal threats are intended to deter the opposing side from launching a full-scale war, but it is not certain that they will achieve their goal. What is achieved are intensifying acts and warnings that are liable to deteriorate into a major escalation.

Last week, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi met their counterparts in the Biden administration in Washington. After the meeting, CNN quoted senior American administration officials as saying that the U.S. promised Israel that in the event of a war in Lebanon, it will quickly supply all the munitions it needs.

Alina Habba, one of the attorneys for former President Donald Trump, has issued an ultimatum to the judge who ruled in the fraud case in New York brought by Attorney General Letitia James.

She has called on Judge Engoron to recuse himself from the case immediately, telling Fox News that they can no longer wait for the Office of Attorney Ethics to take action.

The former president’s attorneys have said that he needs to be off the case because of an alleged “appearance of impropriety” after he received advice on the case from New York real estate attorney Adam Leitman Bailey as the trial was going on.

The second day of pre-trial hearings in former President Trump's classified docs case begins Monday.

Each side argued about the legality of Special Counsel Jack Smith's appointment in the case on Friday.

Both sides are expected to debate the matter again on Monday.

Conservative attorneys have argued that Smith is not able to bring forth criminal charges against a former president as a private citizen, given that he wasn't confirmed by the Senate.

Former President Donald Trump boasted Friday that Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien has accepted his invitation to speak at next month’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

It’s a big get for Trump, who is edging ahead of President Biden in polling with groups that have traditionally backed Democrats for decades, including union members.

One survey this year found Biden and Trump tied at 47% among union members in the six closest swing states Biden won in 2020, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Under the Biden administration the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a pattern of releasing suspected terrorists at the southwest border resulting in national security risks that include threats to U.S. military installations and critical infrastructure, a congressional committee affirms. Federal lawmakers reveal that since Biden took office the U.S. Border Patrol has encountered at least 351 illegal aliens on the Terrorist Screening Data Set coming into the country between ports of entry. Among them are two Jordanian nationals who recently attempted to breach a military base not far from the nation’s capital. The men drove a truck to the main gate of Marine Corps Base Quantico earlier this month and ignored guards’ orders to stop when they could not provide credentials required to gain access to the facility. The Virginia base is about 35 miles south of Washington D.C.

Former President Trump’s legal team is back in court on Monday after a Friday hearing in which both sides argued the legality of Special Counsel Jack Smith's appointment in the classified document case against the former president.

The hearing continues Monday when the two sides again discuss matters related to Smith’s appointment as well as a limited gag order that prosecutors have requested to bar Trump from comments they fear could endanger the safety of FBI agents and other law enforcement officials involved in the case.

Trump’s lawyers have said any speech restrictions would infringe on his free speech rights. Cannon initially rejected the prosecution’s request on technical grounds, saying Smith’s team had not sufficiently conferred with defense lawyers before seeking the restrictions. Prosecutors subsequently renewed the request.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon heard hours of arguments Friday from lawyers for both sides, with Trump attorney Emil Bove asserting that the Justice Department risked creating a "shadow government" through the appointment of special counsels to prosecute select criminal cases.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has accused a prominent legacy media outlet of printing falsehoods and “collaborating” with the Kremlin to smear him to protect the “dying Conservative Party”.

The Mail on Sunday, the sister paper of the Daily Mail, may be facing a lawsuit from Nigel Farage over its headline over the weekend which read: “Zelensky: Farage Is Infected with ‘Virus of Putin’,” after the Brexit leader stated the West played a role in provoking the Russian invasion with EU and NATO expansionism.

Mr Farage said that the headline was “totally untrue” and said he instructed the Carter-Ruck law firm to “deal with it”.

Alan Dershowitz, Harvard law professor emeritus, wrote that a continued gag order on Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump infringes on voters’ rights to hear his criticisms of his recent felony conviction, which is likely to come up at this week’s presidential debate.

In a guest column for The Wall Street Journal published Friday, Dershowitz reacted to Manhattan prosecutors urging Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over Trump’s business records trial, to keep in place a gag order that prevents the former president from criticizing jurors or members of the prosecution who convicted him.

Dershowitz wrote that in addition to violating Trump’s First Amendment rights, “it violates your First Amendment rights and mine as well.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where he tried, and failed, to sell the Biden administration’s spin that it is delivering for the American people by being tough on China.

The reality is that the Biden administration’s China policy is a disaster for U.S. security and prosperity. President Biden seems content to sacrifice peaceful relations and the benefits of trade with China for short-term political advantages that come with insisting that China be an enemy of the United States. Unfortunately, Secretary Blinken’s testimony left little hope that change is coming anytime soon.

Effective September 29, the US Commerce Department has banned American sales of, and software update downloads for, Kaspersky Lab’s globally popular cybersecurity/anti-virus software … “because Russia.”

The order “will prohibit Kaspersky Lab and all of its affiliates, subsidiaries and parent company from providing cyber security and anti-virus software anywhere in the United States,” Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said in a press briefing. “Russia has shown it has the capacity and even more than that, the intent, to exploit Russian companies like Kaspersky to collect and weaponize the personal information of Americans.”

Responding to the order, Kaspersky denied that the ban would actually affect its ability to operate in the US and claimed the decision was based on “geopolitical climate and theoretical concerns” rather than any actually established risks.

In tandem with the Commerce Department ban, the US Treasury announced sanctions on 12 of the company’s executives.

Webmaster addition: I trust Kaspersky more than any security software produced in the US!
