Why Is The Official Narrative About The Origins Of Covid Suddenly Changing?

By Janet Phelan

Recently, the official narrative concerning the origins of the Covid pandemic underwent an abrupt change. The social media giants stopped automatically censoring stories pointing to the lab in Wuhan as a possible ground zero for the virus, as President Biden ordered an intelligence investigation into the possibility of the virus coming from what is being termed “a lab leak.”

At the same time, revelations appeared in the mainstream press, after months of such stories circulating in independent media, stating that Dr. Anthony Fauci had funded gain of function research in the Wuhan lab, contrary to his public assertions. Fauci’s emails, which ramp up further concern as to the veracity of his public statements about the genesis of the virus and any potential personal involvement with the Wuhan lab, were FOIAed by Buzzfeed and circulated widely.

This article intends to focus in on the reasons for the shift in the narrative and what it may portend...

U.S. Lawyer Steven Donziger Speaks from House Arrest in NYC After Suing Chevron for Amazon Oil Spills

Decades of reckless oil drilling by Chevron have destroyed 1,700 square miles of land in the Ecuadorian Amazon, but the company has refused to pay for the damage or clean up the land despite losing a lawsuit 10 years ago, when Ecuador’s Supreme Court ordered the oil giant to pay $18 billion on behalf of 30,000 Amazonian Indigenous people.

Israel Imposes Gag Order On Probe Into Oil Spill Dubbed "Most Serious Ecological Disaster" In Years

Israeli authorities have closed down miles of beaches as the county is in the midst of its "most serious ecological disaster in recent years" after an oil spill from an unknown origin occurred some dozens of miles off the coast into the Mediterranean Sea.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection indicated that tar was "washing up and contaminating the beaches" starting last Wednesday. A major clean-up and conservation effort is underway that has included the Israeli Army.

It's believed the oil spill may have happened a week or more ago, or possibly even weeks prior, but recent stormy weather washed it up to shore.

Currently an estimated 106 miles of coastline have been impacted, stretching from Israel through the Gaza Strip. It's also been widely reported as impacting southern Lebanon's coastline.

Ten years later, BP oil spill continues to harm wildlife—especially dolphins

On April 20, 2010, an explosion at the BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig released over 130 million gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico. It was the biggest oil spill ever in U.S. waters and remains one of the worst environmental disasters in world history.

Eleven rig workers lost their lives. So did untold millions of marine mammals, sea turtles, birds, and fish. While the world watched, helpless, oil gushed into one of the planet’s most biodiverse marine habitats for 87 long days.

Britain, France, and Germany Spurn US Plan for Iran Sanctions

Trump Administration officials have been saying this for weeks, but on Friday reiterated their intentions to try to enforce a UN Security Council resolution that includes broad sanctions against Iran. Officials say they expect every nation to comply.

The glaring problem with this is that the resolution doesn’t exist, at least not as an active resolution the US wants. The P5+1 nuclear deal gave the US the authority to reimpose sanctions on Iran, but the US had withdrawn from that pact years ago. Though the Trump Administration argued that didn’t matter, the UN has virtually unanimously rejected their interpretation, and rejected the UN Security Council resolution. The US believes the resolution becomes active Sunday, but the reality is it just doesn’t exist legally.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These actions spell desperation on the cusp of madness, and the world is not following suit; so, what is next here, an invasion of Iran?!?

Considering just how "brilliantly" the other US occupations around the world are going, you might imagine it might just be time for a "re-think" on this; but of course, Israel's Bibi Netanyahu will not allow that to happen; he wants the US waging war against Iran, so Israel will not have to.

In Pictures: Oil spill threatens ecological disaster in Mauritius

Fuel spilling from a Japanese bulk carrier that ran aground on a reef in Mauritius two weeks ago is creating an ecological disaster, endangering corals, fish and other marine life around the Indian Ocean island, officials and environmentalists say.

The MV Wakashio, owned by the Nagashiki Shipping Company, struck the reef on Mauritius's southeast coast on July 25.

On Thursday, the government said fuel was leaking from a crack in the vessel's hull, and Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth declared a state of environmental emergency, pleading for international help.

Environmental group Greenpeace said the spill was to likely to be one of the worst ecological crises Mauritius has ever seen.

Will Trump Go to War With Iran to Save the US Oil Industry?

It’s believed that a US-Iran war would disrupt the flow of Middle Eastern oil and, as such, should be avoided at all costs. With US oil futures trading in the negative, has the risk of such a war suddenly become attractive?

Oil prices plunge below zero, sending stocks lower

This is really bad. A total collapse of oil prices.

NEW YORK (AP) — Oil prices plunged below zero on Monday as demand for energy collapses amid the coronavirus pandemic and traders don’t want to get stuck owning crude with nowhere to store it.

The US is set to lose its spot as world's top oil producer — and it 'doesn't have a lot of tools' to do anything about it

A world increasingly in lockdown over the coronavirus crisis and the oil price war set off between Saudi Arabia and Russia have brought crude prices down more than 65% year-to-date.
In America's shale country, budgets have been slashed, capital investment put on hold, and workers laid off. In the last two weeks alone, 59 rigs have been put out of service.
"We see in this coming month of April what could be a 20 million barrel a day decline in oil demand. It's unprecedented," Dan Yergin of IHS Markit told CNBC.

What Happens If U.S. Shale Goes Bust?

This month has seen a spectacular oil price crash the likes of which we haven't seen in decades.

The oil price war and subsequent crash have had devastating effects on U.S. shale, which was already struggling with diminishing profit margins. “Few U.S. shale firms can withstand prolonged oil price war,” Reuters proclaimed last week. “For the last five years, U.S. shale oil producers have been battling suppliers for lower costs and running equipment and crews hard to drive drilling costs down by about $20 a barrel,” the article reports. “The oil market rout last week, however, has left most shale firms facing prices below their costs of production.”

U.S. Oil Industry Could End Up Losing More Than 200,000 Jobs

With West Texas Intermediate below $30 a barrel and Saudi Arabia’s plans to keep pumping as much as it can for as long as it can, the U.S. oil industry is bracing for job losses that could end up in five-figure territory. “A sustained drop in oil prices would cost the sector 50,000-75,000 jobs if employment returned to its low from a few years ago,” the chief economist of PGIM Fixed Income, Nathan Sheets, told CNBC this week.

Geopolitical Genius Donald J. Has Backed Saudi Arabia’s MBS to the Hilt Only to Get a Price War on US Shale in Return

Donald Trump made one of the biggest mistakes of his presidency in the spring of 2017, when he offered an unconditional embrace to the then-emerging 31-year-old ruler of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, and adopted his agenda of aggressively confronting Iran. Three years later, as Trump grapples with the greatest crisis he has faced, that choice is costing him dearly.

Russia Strikes Back Where It Hurts: American Oil

Russia and Saudi Arabia are engaged in an oil price war that has sent shockwaves around the world, causing the price of oil to tumble and threatening the financial stability, and even viability, of major international oil companies.

Russia Enters Oil Price War to Teach MBS a Lesson on Limits of US Support for Saudi

This will also destroy the Petrodollar that Nixon and Kissinger gave us. It will crash the so called American Empire, which will be a good thing for Americans and for the Planet!

Moscow’s understanding of the OPEC+ deal was that in return for Russia’s help in propping up the oil prices the Gulf Arabs would reinvest some of the proceeds in Russia (and make up for sanctions) but that didn’t really happen

After the latest round of U.S. sanctions against Russia was signed into law last year, Russian president Vladimir Putin warned that Russia would retaliate at a time and place of its own choosing. Wrecking the OPEC-Plus arrangement and provoking a demolition-derby price war with Saudi Arabia may seem to be an odd and puzzling way to respond, but there may be a method to that madness. I believe that the Kremlin is gambling that, by year’s end, it will be able to not only push back against the United States but also to reconstruct its partnership with Saudi Arabia.

Putin's Crude Revenge

Last week, OPEC called on Russian oil companies to lower production in response to reduced demand from China and a Eurozone bound for recession. They said no.

Just like that, oil took a nosedive, losing 25% of its value on Monday. The price of a barrel of oil closed at $33 dollars, compared to $45 late last week.

For the last decade, America's rise as an oil exporting power thanks to the expensive shale exploiting process has allowed neocons to cripple the economies of Venezuela, Iran and Russia.

Don't Be Fooled By The Oil Price Rebound

A mild winter in the northern hemisphere, the COVID-19 outbreak, and now the price war that Saudi Arabia declared last weekend have combined to produce an all-new oil price crisis just four years after the last one. And things might get worse before they get better.

Putin Launches "War On US Shale" After Dumping MbS & Breaking Up OPEC+

OPEC+ is no more, after a torrid 24 hours in which Russia overturned the balance of power in the oil world, leaving the members of OPEC+ dazed and confused, shocking Saudi which now faces social unrest with the price of oil far below Riyadh's budget, and - in a repeat of the Thanksgiving 2014 OPEC massacre - sending oil prices plunging by the most since the financial crisis.

And now, Bloomberg has the stunning backstory behind Friday's announcement that Russia is quitting its output deal with OPEC and its allies, after last week's Vienna summit meant to back a proposal by oil producers to cut output collapsed, causing a 10% plunge in oil prices, with some markets seeing their biggest one-day falls since the financial crisis.

Russia Just Told the World, “No.”

There is real power in the word “No.”

In fact, I’d argue that it is the single most powerful word in any language.

In the midst of the worst market meltdown in a dozen years which has at its source problems within global dollar-funding markets, Russia found itself in the position to exercise the Power of No.

Multiple overlapping crises are happening worldwide right now and they all interlock into a fabric of chaos.

The Rupture

Grease the wheels of industries
Upon her blood we feed

Is the CNN video of the BP oil cap real?

The sudden decision of BP to cap the well after telling us that nothing could be done until the relief wells were completed in August came as a surprise to me. Supposedly, there was no technology to cap a leak at this psi.

BP shares rose 9 percent with the news of the cap and their possible sale of assets in Alaska.
